Besides its convenient location, the hotel has nothing going for it. The rooms are old, and the bathroom outlets were broken. For over 4000 a night, we were given a connecting room with the bed facing the neighboring bathroom. Make sure to ask about this when checking in. The soundproofing is terrible; we could clearly hear people talking in the next room late at night. Also, Ctrip guests don't get the complimentary lion plushie.

First, I paid over 400 SGD at the front desk to upgrade to a harbor view room, only to be given a low-floor room with a monument directly in front of it – a really bad experience. Second, the breakfast selection was extremely limited and there was no service at all, which was very disappointing. Third, when checking out, I asked the front desk if they offered the small Merlion souvenir. The staff member was incredibly condescending, saying that my room type didn't include it. I had a wonderful stay at Fairmont Singapore. The hotel’s location is unbeatable directly connected to City Hall MRT and close to Raffles City shopping mall, walking distance about 1-2mins, making it extremely convenient. The view is stunning, basically can see the key attractions.
