Here’s a polished Trip.com-style review that keeps your concerns clear while still sounding fair and balanced:
We stayed at Youyou Light Luxury Hotel (Yonghe Palace Nanluoguxiang Branch) as a large family group requiring three rooms in total. Unfortunately, while the location was convenient, the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel were disappointing.
Two of the three toilets clogged during our stay, with one room having to wait overnight for repairs and no compensation or alternative solution offered. There was also no signage or information provided advising guests not to flush toilet paper, despite there being many other notices displayed throughout the property in both English and Chinese.
The hallways were noticeably dusty and covered with cat fur and fluff, which continuously entered the rooms as well. As some members of our family have allergies to animal fur, this made sleeping quite uncomfortable.
We also experienced an issue with one of the room doors where the key card unlocked the door, but the latch mechanism failed to release properly. When attempting to open it, part of the door frame broke due to what appeared to be poor workmanship or existing infrastructure issues. Despite this, we were charged for the damage. We were then moved to another family room which had visible water damage around the door frame and again smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, despite being labelled as non-smoking.
Positives were the good location, a 7/11 conveniently next door for essentials, and friendly staff who tried to assist where possible. The rooftop seating area was also a nice place to relax. However, the poor maintenance, smoke smell, and lack of cleanliness made the stay below expectations overall.
2/5 stars.
