Beijing Xinqiao Hotel

Great location, but the rooms are a bit dated. It's right next to Tongren Hospital, which is super convenient if you need medical attention. It would have been even better if the back entrance was open. Since it's summer, there were a lot of tourists, and I had to queue at the front desk.

Let's start with the positives: Firstly, the location is excellent. Right outside the entrance is Chongwenmen subway station, making it incredibly convenient to reach all the major attractions. This is definitely the hotel's biggest selling point. Secondly, the staff are very service-oriented. Their customer care, from booking to check-out, was impressive, and the front desk was quick to help guests resolve issues during my stay. Now for the areas that need improvement: As it's an older hotel, the facilities are quite basic and dated. The lighting is also on the dim side, especially in the elevators. The rooms show signs of age, with some water stains and black mold visible in the bathroom, and dust accumulation in the corners of the wardrobe door tracks. During this stay, the first room (B213) had a strong odor from the bathroom drain, so with the help of the front desk, I moved to a different room (B559). However, the air conditioning in the second room was not very effective; even at its lowest setting, the room temperature stayed around 27 degrees Celsius, making it feel a bit stuffy in the mornings or at midday. Overall, considering the price, Xinqiao Hotel offers acceptable value for money in the city center. My suggestions for the hotel are: 1. Replace the lighting with brighter white lights to make the place feel less dated. 2. Increase the frequency of maintenance for drainage pipes and the central air conditioning system. 3. Improve the cleanliness of room corners, particularly in the bathrooms.

Facilities: A bit old-fashioned, but having a shower head is great! The water felt so good after showering and soaking my feet! I heard it's hot spring water? Is that true? Hygiene: Good hygiene. I stayed for 5 consecutive nights, and the cleaning staff cleaned every day. Environment: Right next to the subway station 🚇, super convenient. There are also many shared bikes in front of the hotel, and cycling at night was very pleasant! There's a bus stop too! Service: Except for the front desk staff on the night I checked in, whose attitude was not very good. My flight was delayed by three and a half hours that night, and I arrived at the hotel after 4 AM. The front desk staff was already sleeping at the desk and was unhelpful when I asked about accommodation and breakfast. Other services were pretty good. I changed from a Deluxe King Room to a Superior King Room, and I personally prefer the Superior King Room. I heard this building was renovated in recent years, and it felt pretty good 😌. Also, the hotel room provides small tubes of body lotion every day! I loved it! It really helped soothe my skin after sun exposure in the summer.

Facilities: A bit old, but very well-maintained. Cleanliness: Excellent, daily cleaning keeps it spotless. Environment: Quiet, and very close to Chongwenmen subway station. Service: Staff are polite, enthusiastic, and professional.

Had a terrible experience. The hallway was noisy, which made it hard to sleep. Also, I broke out in a rash on my neck, possibly from unclean towels or bedding. I'm definitely not going back.

I stayed here many years ago when it was still a Novotel, and the breakfast quality remains just as good now. This time, I booked a deluxe room with a view of the main street, but the in-room facilities felt a bit outdated. The location is very convenient, with subway and bus access, and taxis to major attractions are inexpensive. Overall, I recommend it.

The hotel has a great location and a wide variety of breakfast options. The staff are warm and attentive, especially Meng Shuming at the front desk. The doorman was also excellent.

The biggest highlight of the Xinqiao Hotel is its extremely convenient location – directly opposite Chongwenmen Subway Station (where Lines 2 and 5 intersect). It's incredibly easy to get to Wangfujing, Tiananmen Square, and Beijing Railway Station by subway or bus. Plus, there are malls like New World nearby. However, the facilities are indeed quite dated. After all, it's an old hotel that opened in 1954, and some rooms have dim lighting. Some room types are windowless, which can feel a bit stuffy if you haven't confirmed beforehand. I personally recommend getting a room with a window. In summary, if location and transportation convenience are your top priorities and you're fine with the older style of an established hotel, this is a hassle-free choice!

Good value for money, though the facilities are a bit old and the room is quite small. They do provide ice, which is a nice touch. The location is fantastic! It's about a kilometer to Tiananmen Square, or just three bus stops away. The subway entrance is right outside, making it easy to get to the Forbidden City and the National Museum. I highly recommend the Sanbaole Bakery next door. They have fresh cakes and yogurt that are delicious and additive-free.
