Scandic München Macherei

We had a great time at this hotel. Booked a superior room and the room is huge so we had plenty of room to move around the luggage and other stuff as a family of 4. Breakfast is great even though the selection wasn’t plenty but it’s enough, there have cereals which great toppings, some hot foods, cheese, yogurt, self made waffles, self made fruit juice and some other basic drinks. The location is slightly further from city centre but tram is only 3 minutes walk and it takes you straight to HBF which is why I chose this hotel. Only tricky part is when you get off from HBF you need to head north(NORD) and across to get to tram 21. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay for us.

Location is great ! Next to Train or bus station. Check in service is great !  Bed a bit too soft for me.

Although the stay itself was okay, the hotel service was absolutely terrible. When I checked in, I paid a €20 early check-in fee and requested an invoice. The receptionist told me it would be ready at check-out. However, when I was checking out, there was a large corporate group checking in. The staff told me they were too busy and promised to email the invoice to me instead. After waiting for two weeks with no response, I emailed the hotel. They replied with an incredibly arrogant tone, even misspelling my name, claiming they couldn't issue an invoice because my booking was made through a third-party platform. This makes no sense—I am only asking for an invoice for the early check-in fee that I paid directly to them, not for the room itself! It has absolutely nothing to do with how the room was booked. If you need any invoice, do not try to be nice or save them the trouble, no matter how busy they claim to be. Otherwise, you’ll end up like me, getting completely ripped off without an invoice.

So impressed by the reception staff. They were polite, efficient & very helpful. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. Staff were constantly keeping the food replenished and clearing tables too. Rooms are well designed with a good range of amenities. Although a little further from the city centre than some hotels the tram stop is very nearby.

We arrived very late past midnight and were warmly greeted by a friendly staff member, which was a great start. However, throughout the rest of our stay, we felt the overall welcome could have been warmer, especially when passing the front desk each day. A lovely surprise was the birthday card and small gift the hotel prepared for my daughter — such a thoughtful touch and truly appreciated. The room was spotless and cosy, with extremely comfortable beds. We also appreciated the more compact towels, which fit well with the hotel’s sustainability approach and were still perfectly comfortable for daily use. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Scandic München Macherei and would definitely consider returning.

Very worse service standard from the staff named “SOOHYUN”, he is very rude to the customers and not helpful. He even scolded on me for my request. Totally terrible experience.

Hotel was great. Breakfast was amazing. Gym is a bit too small and too crowded in the morning. Weird thing is they did not give us water daily and the only time we had cleaning they took away our card from the electric. Otherwise all good.
