I installed it before boarding at Narita and activated it as soon as I arrived in Toronto. Simply having roaming turned on allowed me to connect without any problems, and it was consistently fast throughout my trip. I even traveled to New York midway through, and without doing anything, it connected normally in the US as soon as I arrived. I had absolutely no problems during my 10-day trip.
