During my trip to Hokkaido, including Asahikawa, Daisetsuzan Sounkyo, Kurodakesan, Sapporo, and Otaru, I had a strong and stable signal in every location without any dropped calls. My phone is a Pixel, and after arriving in Japan, I switched to eSIM, which required some configuration with my carrier to connect to the internet. My boyfriend, who uses an Apple phone, didn't encounter this issue. This is just for your reference.
