Opened in 2025, the Travelodge Caerphilly Hotel offers travelers a pleasant stay in Caerphilly, whether for business or leisure purposes. With Aber just 1km away and Cardiff Airport only 21km away, transportation is very convenient. Famous local attractions Castle View Nature Reserve, Poppelwood Soft Play & Children Parties and Forge83, can all be reached with a short walk. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city.
When arriving for the first time you know this will be very rural when you have to drive around the cattle grazing on the road. The hotel is about a mile down a narrow lane at the top of a hill. The views from the top are superb. There is sufficient parking, though the overflow car park can be hard to spot. It's hard to think that you are just 30 minutes or so from Cardiff city centre. Check in was straightforward and the room was a little larger than the average double hotel room. It had all the usual facilities and bonus: this hotel still puts out biscuits! Breakfast was booked in 30 minute slots, the menu is excellent and it is freshly cooked. There is also a buffet of cereals, pastries etc. Staff were friendly and the service was excellent. We visit Cardiff quite often and, rather than find a hotel in the city, I think we will make this our first choice in the future. Footnote for EV drivers; I could see no charge point here. The nearest town with a decent number seems to be Caerphilly, about 6 or 7 miles away.
