It is said that Hideyo Noguchi, who was born in Inawashiro, was baptized. In the Meiji era, Western culture was brought to the land of Aizu, and Hideyo Noguchi was eager to study medicine in response to the spirit of the times. The western style architecture that is now present seems to be different from that time.

This church is right next to Aizu Aoi High School, passing through Chuo-dori and Shinmei-dori in Aizu Wakamatsu. While Hideyo Noguchi came to learn English, he was influenced by the pastor and his wife and began to be baptized. Weddings are also held at the church here.
