I visited for the first time in 3 in anticipation of an ice column, but it was in the state of taruhi as expected. After all, the ice column is the best in this waterfall. The monument "Fudoson Hanging the ice curtain" was not a lie! However, the back of the waterfall was still off limits.
It is a medium-sized waterfall with a head of 15 meters. Stone Buddhas are lined up behind the waterfall. The origin of the name Sengataki is the sad story related to the fall of Matsuida Castle. If you are visiting the ruins of Matsuida Castle, you should try reaching Sengataki.
It is a so-called Urami Falls, but now the promenade that enters the back side of the waterfall is off limits. A waterfall is falling from a semicircular bedrock, but I'm really wondering how this kind of terrain can be created. In winter, many icicles hang from the semicircular bedrock, and it seems that it becomes a bamboo curtain of icicles. I want to see the icicles someday. Sengataki parking lot goes straight from Prefectural Road 33 on the right curve in front of Kumano Shrine (with guide) 3〜4...
