St. Johanns Gate is one of the three surviving entrance gates to the old mediaeval walled city, which formed part of the fortifications built shortly after the great earthquake of 1356.

At a Tram Stop 1 Block from St. Johanns Park & Boat Landing

This tower is along the tram line and at the tram stop where visitors to Basel who are embarking on a Rhine River Cruise (like Viking) may go. It is easy to find and see from the tram.
