Respite From the Crowds
We did not have time for a tour of the place but enjoyed walking around it and enjoying the peaceful gardens. If I could do it over, I would have taken the tour!
Visited this premises whilst on the island
Interesting place although more info could be provided in english on the displays. These premises were used after WW2 to sort out the government of the then West Germany. Intetrsting modern history.
Exter paintings well worth seeing
I had never heard of Exter before visiting Hereninsel. There is a large collection of his work in the old castle/monestery. It is well worth a visit.
Julius Exter exhibit is AMAZING!
Tour the monastery if you have about 45 minutes before your tour of the castle. The special exhibit was beautiful.
