A 15 min of road from the small town of Fujiyoshida (to the south, direction of Mont Fuji), there is an fascinating and yet uncommon site: Funatsu Lava Tree Molds.
One of the constituent assets of the world heritage site "Mt. Fuji", the lava that swallowed the tree solidified as it was, and the part of the burnt tree became hollow, and it is still the object of Mt. Fuji faith. Unfortunately, the interior was not seen because it was closed since April. It was a visit after checking the website, but it is difficult to understand because there is a guide to the closure on the "notification" instead of the top page, so be careful for a while.
