For Fans of Kinoshita or Japanese cinema

Kinoshita Keisuke is one of my favourite directors, so of course I had to visit this little museum. The staff was very helpful and both the curator and receptionist spoke English very well. They greet...

you should see the building itself rather than the exhibits.

    Original Text

About 15 minutes walk from Hamamatsu Station. Admission is 100 yen. No photography of exhibits. The building was completed in 1930 by the former Hamamatsu Banking Association. It is designated as a national registered tangible cultural property. The designer is Yosukehira Nakamura, an architect from Hamamatsu and who worked at the office of Kingo Tatsuno. a retro building that was a bank association.

    Original Text

It is a facility where a retro building that was a bank association is used as a museum. The works of Keisuke Kinoshita, a film director from Hamamatsu, were introduced. Not only the exhibition but also a lot of DVDs were prepared, and it seemed that I could appreciate my favorite work by myself.

    Kinoshita Keisuke related to Hamamatsu

    Original Text

I grew up in Hamamatsu, but it was the first time I entered the hall. I passed in front of me on a refreshing walk, so I stopped by. I knew the building of a registered cultural property in Hamamatsu City from childhood. There were many exhibits related to film director Keisuke Kinoshita. In particular, I was very nostalgic for the photos related to the 24 eyes of Shodoshima, which I have been to many times. When I was very nostalgic and energetic, such as the group of twenty-four eyes in front of Tosho port in Shodoshima and the movie village where I went with my dead sister ...
