Trumanism On March 12, 1947, the United States proposed that "Trumanism" was widely regarded as a new and dramatic shift in American foreign policy, and its impact worldwide was equivalent to the Monroe doctrine of 1823, which declared that the Western Hemisphere was no longer dominated by European colonialism. The Soviet Union considered Trumanism an open threat to the US side's expansion of Soviet-controlled areas and Soviet-Russian expansion. "Trumanism" is an interference in other countries' internal affairs, which is regarded by scholars as an important symbol of the official beginning of the "Cold War" between the capitalist camp dominated by the United States and NATO, and the socialist camp dominated by the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact. It is a typical great powerism after World War II.
