I think it's called Otepier because it's a place facing the street of Otemon. When I found it on the map, I wasn't sure what kind of place it was. It is a new and beautiful building. Inside is a cultural facility such as a library. There was a statue of Torahiko Terada in front of the Oitemon-dori side.

It is a complex facility located close to tourist attractions in the city center area such as Hirome Market. Libraries and other areas occupies a large area, and I think there are not many tourists, but I was tired of walking around the city, so I had to take a break for a while and use it.

I think the library is the main, but the science museum is also attractive. There is also a work by Professor Kitaoka of Ritsumeikan University, a researcher of perception from Kochi, and the small but powerful planetarium is worth a visit. Experience scientific experiments and materials of leopard bees are also a must-see. The learning room is also substantial.

The corner in front of Kochi Castle has been vacant for more than 20 years, and the building has suddenly been built in the last few years. And this was what I was able to do. I hope that it will develop as a base for the birthplace of new culture around Kochi Castle.
