The scenery around the dam is very picturesque and definitely worth a visit.
The name Arakawa comes from Arakawa River. Arakawa River is a rapid river upstream which created Shousenkyou Valley. It merges into Fuefuki River in central Kofu City which joins Fujigawa and flows in...
On the way to Shosen Gorge, I rest a little at Arakawa Reservoir. . .

On Sunday, in the southern Alps City, I will visit the atelier of the pottery exhibition & painting exhibition, which is held by an acquaintance, with a Shizuoka specialty eel pie. On the way back, the weather was fine, so I stopped by Arakawa Dam on the way to Shosenkyo. There were many tourist cars parked in the parking lot, and it seemed that there were many Kanto numbers.
Play in the Arakawa Reservoir in the back zashiki of Shosen Gorge. . .

I want to go a little further from Shosenkyo, so if you drive further upstream of the river, turn right in the right direction and go for a while, you will see the walls rather than the large stone bank. The dam is impossible to walk across, but there is a small parking lot and you can take a break for a while. There is a restaurant nearby. It's like a weird lake, and the winter is not very beautiful, but I think it will be a nice scenery if you come during the autumn leaves season. It seems that it is probably impossible to go around the lakeside in winter.
