Shimen Reservoir began construction in 1969, water storage in 1973, completed in 1979, once the highest hyperbolic arch dam in the country. The reservoir is mainly irrigation function, and it has power generation and aquatic products. It is an important source of rich and beautiful Hanzhong Basin.
Shimen Reservoir is located in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, belonging to the middle reaches of the Luohe River.
