Fascinating story!
We were totally fascinated by the story and history of these causeways linking the islands. First built in the early 1940’s mostly by Italian prisoners of war, the work took several years to complete....
Essential viewing for wartime history, especially when seen with the scuttled ships (which formed the earlier barriers to Scapa Flow). Best seen at low tide so that more of the ships are visible.
