I was able to witness the dam discharge!
Original Text
Looking down, it's a scary head. But it's a masterpiece. I happened to see the water discharge today! It's just a short walk from the roadside station, so it's a recommended place to stop by. Please note that the entrance of the car is a little difficult to understand.
It is a dam lake of about 1.5km from Utagenka Ohashi to Miyazaki. Since the opening of the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway, this is not the main route between Oita Miyazaki, but there are campsites and hot springs in the area. It's far from anywhere in the big city, but it's a relaxing place.
Y-shaped Damm lake extending near the prefectural border
Original Text
It is a dam that extends near the prefectural border between Oita and Miyazaki prefectures. Since two rivers flow into the dam lake, it has a Y-shaped shape. Although it is located in the mountains, National Highway 326 connecting Oita ~ Nobeoka passes right by. I enjoyed the calm lake landscape surrounded by cedars while driving across the cable-stayed bridge over the lake.
