Pitok's old house (Pittock Mansion) Pittock Mansion is a century old house, this is the home of a famous couple in Portland (Henry & Georgiana Pittock), the couple has made a lot of credit for the development of Portland city, from a small city on the northwest shore of Portland to a big city with a busy schedule today. Always known as the Portland Pioneer. The house was owned and lived by the Pittock family until 1958, and was rebuilt by the city government in 1964, and officially opened to the public in 1965 as a family museum.
We enjoyed our rainy day tour and we visited historic houses on a high hill near downtown Portland. I highly recommend it. It’s like going back to the past to see how wealthy people lived in the pre-World War II era. The furniture and wardrobe were nice during this time. The owner's innovations in his home were amazing. Come here!
Amazing... Built in 1914, the Mansion is incredible, full of history of Portland's first families. The Oreganian newspaper publisher, together with his family helped transform Portland. It is really worth to visit.
This is the richest home in Portland more than 100 years ago. There are 3 floors on the basement floor. There are elevators and many bedrooms. They have their own characteristics, like the villa of Chiang Kai-shek in China! It is worth seeing in Portland! The location is near the Rose Garden and the Oregon Zoo in the Japanese Garden, near the Children's Museum! You can walk for a day!
Beautiful house and view, beautiful Portland. The narrator was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was nicely furnished and I learned a lot! It may not be suitable for children to visit this attraction, but people over 10 should enjoy it and can get in for $10.
