Ta Prohm Temple

Ta Prohm is a "must see" for all visitors to Angkor. However pretty much every tourist - foreign or local who comes to the archeological park comes here, and as it is not so big, it can get insanely busy - sometimes lines of 20 people waiting to have their photos taken. Come either in the first half hour after it opens (7:30~8am) or the final half hour before it closes (5~5:30pm), and it is significantly quieter.

Ta Prohm the iconic location from the Angelina Jolie movie Tomb Rider. the giant trees covering the historic temple is an amazing thing to view and experience the rich Cambodian heritage.

There are many god trees in Tablong Temple in Cambodia. I heard from the tour guide that this is because the climate in Southeast Asia is relatively humid. The giant trees grow in disjointed intersecting between the gaps in the temple. Birds eat the fruit of the tree and distribute the seeds throughout the temple. The seeds germinate in water, and the roots spread in the stone seams of the building to the four sides.
