It is one of the few important remains that you can feel the war with your skin.

    Original Text

Until now, I understood that "bunker = concrete hangar to hide fighters", and when I examined the character "bunker" without familiarity, it meant "Oi hiding, cover". In the dictionary, it seems to be the same as the so-called trench because it is "a facility such as a sac to protect the archer of the ally from the enemy bullet". Both "boat" and "boat" have the meaning of a moat around the castle, but in some regions, "bunker" is called "bunker" ...

It's in a good place, so it's pretty clear, but I think it's amazing that the war relics remain like this.

Special attack team の base trail

    Original Text

It's easy to understand because there are guide signs here and there when driving in USA city. This is the place where many young people were sent as the base of the special attack corps at the end of the Pacific War. It's sad, but it's a good historic site to study so as not to forget.

    Valuable な History Information

    Original Text

I learned the word Entaigo for the first time here. It was a protective shelter that protects aircraft from bombing, and I didn't know the name even if I watched the photos on TV. There are several former Naval Air Corps bunkers around here in USA City. This No. 1 bunker is exhibited as a battle site, but the others are like farmhouse storage. It is a historic site that you will soon notice in the bunker that this is the former Naval Air Corps base. There is a parking lot and a toilet.

Concrete bunker of thickness 80cm that remains even after 70 years after the war

    Original Text

I've never heard of it as a bunker. War ruins. A powerful concrete Kamaboko-type evacuation / protection trench that protects fighters from bombing. Shiroi No. 1 bunker is the remains of the former Japanese Navy Naval Air Corps USA Base in USA City, Oita Prefecture. Width 21.6m, Height 5.4m. As a symbol to convey the historical facts and the misery of the Kamikaze Special Attack Corps, it is now maintained as a historic park. In the bunker, the withdrawn Zero Battle engine and propeller are exhibited ...
