Kotagede Mosque is also known as the Mataram Gedhe Mosque. The location of this building is in Sayangan Hamlet, Jagalan, Banguntapan, Bantul. The mosque was built during the reign of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono I on June 27, 1773 AD. The Mataram Kotagede Mosque Complex is designated as a cultural heritage by Regulation of the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia No. PM.25/PW.007/MKP/2007 dated March 26, 2007.
