This is a beautiful plaza area in downtown Trinidad. We had some coffee from Lucky's place around the corner. (Loved him too) just watching traffic go by on a sunny warm winter day here!
Coal is a large part of the history of southern Colorado and Trinidad. Located in a central plaza (of sorts) are these monuments recognizing coal miners for their role.

Coal Miners Tribute

Nice representation of the significance of the city
This was a nice memorial to those who dug for coal. I was more impressed with the other memorial, the canary in the cage.
Interesting street art and memorial
Interesting and well-done memorial. A unique slice of Colorado history. I found the coal miner's canary memorial especially touching.
