Dresden Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Dresden, Saxony, Germany, because of its Baroque style of architectural style, and rich humanity, is known as the Florence on the Elbe.
Today, not only for foreign tourists, but for Germans, it is like their back garden. In addition to visiting the oldest Christmas market in Germany during Christmas, when the weather is good, come over the Elbe River. It is also great to have a drink and watch the opera.
In the vicinity of Dresden, you can also get in touch with nature, here is the only national park in Saxony - Little Switzerland. According to legend, in the 18th century, several Swiss painters came to sketch and discovered that the place was surrounded by mountains and waters, the geological structure was strange, and the famous paintings were widely circulated, and they blurted out: "It is like Switzerland!" (Perhaps until now), Switzerland is synonymous with paradise, the name spreads instantly, and over time, it becomes the official name.
From Dresden to Little Switzerland National Park, you need to take the Eurorail and take the Kurort Rathen from the main train station, where you should strongly recommend the European Pass! Don't think about it at all, just take the pass and start, just fill in the name and time of the departure and arrival site.
If you are buying a S bahn ticket, you need to be aware that the station from Dresden to Little Switzerland National Park has crossed three districts. If you can't buy the ticket, you will be fined in minutes. Tears, and tickets across the three districts are also expensive, minutes are more expensive than the number of days of the Eurotsutsu ticket!

This las tapas is in the old town near Dresden's Old Town, the Church of Our Lady. Its time to go in May, this season is very suitable for drinking beer and chatting on the street. Seafood rice is huge and delicious! The amount is large, the seafood is super, and it is very fresh. The shrimp and squid are very tender, the salmon is much better, the meat is still very tender, very good! The signature rabbit leg meat and steak are also good, the crispy potato wedges are huge and crisp, and I can't extricate myself from this store. I just forgot the Spanish fruit wine Sangria.

One of Germany's top ten major cities, Dresden (meaning German riverside forests), is the capital and largest city of Saxony in eastern Germany, second only to the second largest city in the capital, Berlin.
Dresden is a cultural endorsement in Germany. Historically, Dresden has long been the capital of the Saxon kingdom, and for a period of time also served as the capital of the Polish capital, with hundreds of years of prosperity and splendor. The culture and art, Europe's highest urban greening rate and many beautiful Baroque architectures are considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
The entire Old Town of Dresden is full of Baroque architecture, the palace church, the gray color, the old-fashioned atmosphere, the time is a bit long, and it is really hard to identify the buildings in these photos. The beautiful and slender castle-like court church is so beautiful that the beauty of the years makes her beauty more memorable.

The Many Attractions In Dresden Germany
Dresden Germany also known as Florence on the Elbe is popular for the many art and antique collections, the old historic buildings where you are able to see the imprints and carvings of somewhat similar to the Italian architecture that reminds me of the colosseum or even the many cathedral all around Italy.
One of the oldest building here is the dresden castle said to be at least 400 years old. It is amazing how such structure is still standing tall and strong, same goes for the older buildings which somewhat has the same similar architecture as the castle.
The few landmark that you should go to is the Dresden Zwinger, the Frauenkirche Dresden, the royal Palace and the procession of princes. All these attractions are located in my photos. Don't miss this out when visiting Germany, this is some historical knowledge that you can't get from other places.

The Frauenkirche in Dresden is a beautiful Protestant Cathedral. It's one of the most recognizable attractions in Dresden and certainly worth a visit. The interior is quite stunning, especially the view up into the dome and cupola.

For us Dresden is one of the most underrated but beautiful cities in Germany. The old town's architecture is very unique and we especially loved the Frauenkirche.

Dresden, Saxony, Germany!
Dresden, Saxony, Germany, just by looking at these Baroque-style buildings represented by the Church of Our Lady, you know you've arrived in Central Europe. This city also has another name, Florence on the Elbe, although it is known as the Silicon Valley of Europe, the artistic atmosphere is still very strong. A city of 600,000 people, the density is relatively small. It is conducive to slowly admiring the buildings on both sides of the street, they are silently recording history.

Dresden - a pearl on the banks of the Elbe.
Dresden has many treasures and resources. It has natural wine regions, rich palaces and castles, and the largest and most abundant collection museum in Europe. It is truly a gem on the banks of the Elbe River!
Dresden is a well-known wine-producing region in eastern Germany, with a complete wine production chain and picturesque vineyards. There is also a wine road in Saxony waiting for us to discover.
We visited the Wackerbarth Castle winery this time, a vineyard that resembles a castle. The scenery alone made us a little tipsy.
The grapes here are mainly used to make white wine. Each grape must pass strict selection standards before entering the wine-making process, and the requirements for raw materials are very high. Of course, there is a wine tasting session in the winery. It's not an exaggeration to say that this is the best wine I have ever tasted. There is no sour taste like ordinary wine when it enters the mouth, and both the taste and aftertaste are a refreshing and sweet deliciousness.
Drove to the city center for lunch and went to a tastefully decorated restaurant with an elegant medieval castle atmosphere. Even the dining seats were designed to look like a carousel, full of childlike fun.
After lunch, we started our street sweeping mode. This is the Zwinger Palace, the most eye-catching Baroque-style building in Germany and a symbol of Dresden. It was built in 1709 and served as the residence of the ruling families of the Saxon Kingdom throughout history. With its intricate curves and decorations, it is magnificent and dazzling. In the center is a wide square, surrounded by palace buildings in a circle, and exquisite stone carvings can be seen everywhere.
This is the Saxon Palace, which has been the residence of the Saxon kings since the 15th century and the center of power and politics in the region. The Green Dome (Green Vault) connected to it, with an area of more than 1000 square meters, houses more than 3000 royal collections, which are definitely worth savoring.
The Green Dome has many exhibition halls, divided into exhibits of royal goods, equestrian equipment, exquisite ornaments, etc. The exhibition is reasonable and the placement is extremely aesthetically pleasing. Every collection is amazing, and my friends and I lingered and were amazed at how a craft was crafted so delicately hundreds of years ago. The world's largest green diamond is truly dazzling!
Here, the exhibition showcases the related clothing and accessories of European palace archery in the past, along with introductions, which looks very interesting.
This is the king's battle cloak, with exquisite embroidery stitch by stitch. In addition to the rich exhibits, the architecture of the Green Dome is also very impressive, all hidden treasures~ Looking out from the Green Dome, the streets of Dresden still retain their medieval appearance.
Dresden is an inclusive city where ancient horse-drawn carriages and modern trams blend together seamlessly, each with its own reason for existence, creating a harmonious coexistence without any sense of discord.
The Pillnitz Palace is located in the suburbs of Dresden. It is a chinoiserie-style castle and the summer palace of the Kingdom of Saxony.
Unfortunately, we went on a Monday when the China Palace was closed. It is said that there are many Chinese elements in the exhibits, so we can only hold onto our expectations and wait for the next encounter.
The Palace of Pernitz is surrounded by a magnificent garden. Although it is not possible to enter the museum for a visit, it is also great to enjoy the scenery in the garden.
Everywhere is lush green, which has a taste of summer in the castle.
Actually, behind the palace, there is a beautiful corridor with rows of pillars. From a distance, it creates a strong sense of depth and is a great place for filming~

Located in Dresden, the ancient German city, Zwinger Palace is a world-famous Baroque architectural work. It was built in 1709 and its predecessor was a square surrounded by wooden structures, used as a place of celebration for the Saxon royal family to hold various competitions and court games. In the era of the "Strong" Auguste, in order to decorate the building, many sculptors created a large number of unparalleled sculptures, which are still one of the most important places of interest in Dresden, the capital of Saxony. The most popular attraction for photographers in the
Zwinger Palace is the Palace Gate. Elements of the ancient Greek and Roman period, as well as the iconic elements of the Italian Baroque period, adorned the tower. Next to the wall pavilion is the fairy bath. It is one of the finest Baroque fountains in Germany. The interior of the Zwinger Palace was also turned into a museum.
The Semper Gallery is still the most important collection of paintings from the world during the Renaissance to the Baroque period. One of the most famous works is Raphael's "The Sistine Madonna."

Dresden, a cultural city of Germany
Although Dresden was heavily bombed by the Allies during World War II, after the reunification of East and West Germany, many historical buildings were restored, such as the Frauenkirche, the Semper Opera House, etc. Dresden's Zwinger Palace, Dresden Royal Palace, and the State Art Collections are notable for their Renaissance and Baroque styles.

The Gemaldegalerie, or in English, the Old Masters Picture Gallery, is a wonderful museum both for the exterior architecture and the art within. Simply wandering the grounds in the area is enough to keep you occupied most of the day. With a world class painting collection to boot, you certainly want to make this part of your visit to Dresden.
