If you have visited too many commercialized ancient towns and are tired of the same aesthetic, Qingmuchuan, located at the westernmost part of Shaanxi, at the junction of Shaanxi, Sichuan, and Gansu provinces, is still worth a look. Especially for those from Xi'an and northern Sichuan, a weekend is all you need to enjoy a walk in an ancient town surrounded by green mountains and clear waters. For weekend trips, high-speed rail is recommended. Departing from Xi'an, you can reach Ningqiang South Station or Guangyuan Station in Sichuan within 2 hours by high-speed rail. Then you can take a taxi or a bus to the ancient town. We traveled during the National Day holiday when we had more time, so we chose to drive. We took our time and stopped at service areas to rest, even making a detour through Guangyuan, and it took us six to seven hours to arrive. One and a half hours of the journey was on mountain roads with beautiful scenery!

I’ve traveled to Shimen catwalk scenic area in city Hanzhong in spring, pretty good season for being here. 🌸 The area is big and landscape is so beautiful. 💖 So many wonderful stone sculptures and exquisite figurines of people displayed behind the glass along the way. Shimen Dam, also called Shimen Reservoir is strategically important place for the Hanzhong city. That was my first time to come and see the Dam. It was very interesting to got to know how does it function. And area surrounding the Dam is admirable. Very good for taking pictures and for long distance walking. Not overcrowded. Hanzhong Shimen Catwalk Scenic Area. Hanzhong is a, small city located in place where Shaanxi province borders Sichuan. Yes, the city is surrounded by many hills and it's moderate climate allows to culture tea there. Well, this scenic area depicted below is one if the most important landmarks around the city. It easy to be reached by public transportation. Scenic spot includes installations, regional history introduction, sculptures, bridges and... of course serpent shaped pathways going through the hills behind the city dam.
