Jordan is an oasis of stability in an often troubled region. Bordering Israel and Palestine, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, Jordan occupies an unenviable position in the Middle East. In the capital Amman, visitors can tour the ancient Roman Amphitheater or visit the magnificent King Abdullah Mosque. The Royal Automobile Museum is also popular. To the west is the Dead Sea and the Ma'in Hot Springs. In the south, you will find the world-famous archeological ruins at Petra, which featured in the 1989 film "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." Finally, venture into the harsh desert valley at Wadi Rum to see Jordan’s spectacular landscapes.
