Photos of Kushiro Shitsugen National Park

The park spans across Hokkaido and consists of hills, among which are Japan's largest wetlands. It is located in the basin of the Kushiro River and its tributaries that flow through eastern Hokkaido. The vast, uncarved bird's-eye view is the park's charm. This wetland is also a precious habitat and growth area for many animals and plants, including the red-crowned crane, a special natural monument of Japan.
