    A great little Whaling Museum

Although its exhibition is all in one room, it truly gives credit to what was once this tiny ports main source of income. 150 years ago- the age of whale oil. A modern harpoon outside and a kind of ...

it was just beyond the island of qinghai.

    Original Text

It was the place where I drove all the way from Senzaki to Qinghai Island. It's small in front of the building, but there is a parking lot for 4 or 5 cars. Since the land is small, it was a size that would be troublesome for the rest of us if we didn't park the car cleanly. The admission ticket is 200 yen, and I thought this was simply a labor cost rather than the contents of the exhibition. The exhibition is on the 2nd floor and you can see the history of coastal whale fishing around here. Karatsu (Yobuko) also has such a facility, but I feel that the content is less than that ...

A small spot ahead of Qinghai Island

    Original Text

I visited by touring. It is a facility that conveys whale fishing at that time in a quiet port town. The exhibition is quite spectacular, and you can see the ancient whale fishing well. At the recommendation of the person in charge, I also saw the whale tomb right behind. It is a grave that pityed the whale fetus and mourned. The whale was the food for life, but I felt the subtlety of the people in this area.

What is the value of ¥ 200?

    Original Text

I heard other tourists at the entrance and stopped admission. However, if I don't come again, ¥ 200 was a joke. (I didn't enter, but for reference)

You can learn about the relationship between whale fishing and Japanese people. No loss

    Original Text

On the way to Qinghai Island, I happened to find it and stopped by. An elderly man was at the reception, but before he went up to the exhibition space on the second floor, he was able to hear some interesting stories. Comparing the size of the whale and the ships and equipment used during the old whaling, when I asked him that it was a difficult and decisive death, it was not a so-called fisherman but a Sengoku warrior who started the old whaling in the first place. I heard that it was true, and I was convinced. The exhibition space on the second floor is ...
