Photos of Changgan Bridge

Changgan Bridge is located in the south of Nanjing City. The original bridge was built during the Yang and Wu Periods of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. The bridge deck is wide and cheerful, and it is the intersection of the ancient water transport wharfs, where Li Bai once wrote poems. In December 1937, in order to prevent the Japanese invaders from attacking, the defenders blew up the large arch in the middle, and then paved it with wooden beams for traffic. In 1951, it was rebuilt as a reinforced concrete bridge. The expanded Changgan Bridge is 100 meters long and 24 meters wide, with a total of 8 spans.
