Pompey Square

What people are saying:

I'm here # Pompey Square was the place where the Bahamas slaves were bought and sold. It is very close to the port. There is a small Pompey museum about this period of history. It is hard to imagine how such a dirty human and flesh trade was carried out on the picturesque beach. The scene. The square is still facing the sea. The wide view can be said to be invincible. You can also see a large cruise ship docking here. There are many restaurants around here. Restaurants are a good place to relax.

    Local park like square

It is off to the right of Bay Street. We stopped here on our way to the beach to look around and read the dedication to the first settlers here. There are benches and a nice view of the sea.

    Nice little square

Commemorating the life of a slave, the square had some nice views over the water and places to sit and relax. It’s a little hidden between touristy shops and bars.

A relaxing spot in the heart of the city..

Just sitting and watching the passers-by or just watching the small water-fall, or just taking a leisurely stroll along the square is so very refreshing,. Lovely square.
