The Church of Sacred Heart is the most famous church in Paris after Notre Dame in Paris. It has a history of more than 300 years. The huge stained glass windows are very beautiful. The sunshine through the windows is very fantastic on the ground. There is a kind of hazy and mysterious feeling.
One of my favorite places in Paris! Whereas Notre Dame can be dark and cold, Sainte Chapelle feels so uplifting. The beauty of the windows (which are being painstakingly restored so about 3 of them will be covered up at a time) just can't be shown in pictures. There are several chairs placed at the periphery of the main chapel and large cards in different languages that explain each window panel. Bring binoculars! You won't regret it!Also just basic how to get there, you will have to go through airport-like security due to the fact that its in the Palais de Justice complex. But I never had any trouble and things move quite quickly.
Sainte Chapelle should be on must-see list of every visitor to Paris. While there are many incredible sites in this beautiful city, you will never forget this place after your visit. The stained glass windows of the cathedral are breathtaking, especially on a sunny day. When we were there, classical music was playing – it was sublime.
The unforgettable interior of this high-gothic cathedral soars with the light of hundreds of stained glass windows floating into it's vast space. The upper chapel has 1,113 biblical scenes told in a series of 15 windows. the exterior is delightful too, full of flying buttresses and spires. It's on the Ile de la Cite', in the middle of the Seine.
Favorite place in Paris. This two-story chapel is impressive, but what always blows me away are the stained glass windows telling the story of the Bible in over 1100 scenes. If you can, try to come here when the sun is out so you can get the most out of the stained glass.
Go to the Vivaldi concert in St. Chapelle. Watch the light play on the ancient stain glass windows. The concert is early in the evening so you can still have a great dinner afterward. Find the concerts and times in a copy of Pariscope Magazine, available at newsstands, called tabac.
The Best Place Ever. The most BEAUTIFUL stained glasses. I can spend a whole day sitting and basking in this incredible place. It looks a bit dull outside but inside is fantastic. If you don't have the fast ticket, prepare to wait outside for 30 minutes or an hour. The queue is LONG....
This jewel box of a chapel is the most magnificent example of Rayonnant architecture. This is the one place not to miss to appreciate medieval architecture's apex. Best to visit when you can also take in a concert as the space comes to life with music.
Yes the concerts of classical music in the venue are touristic.Nevertheless, it is ear boggling. If she's never been in such a concert, the performers are brilliant and the venue give divine acoustic merits to the sound. You'll love it.
On my first ever trip to Europe I went to Paris and was blown away by the Sainte-Chapelle and its sumptuous stained glass windows. Whatever your religious or non persuasion, this church is a jewel-like wonder.
