Brandenburg Gate

Square
Modelled after the acropolis in Athens, Greece, this portal has seen some of the most interesting history in the world unfold at its gates. From marches through Pariser Platz, Napolean's armies stealing statues, and the burning of the Reichstag down the street, this monument is a testament to history. After it sustained heavy damage during WW2, the gate became inaccessible to most of the world, as the Berlin wall was constructed and the gate fell into the zone of death surrounding it-- it's only fitting that this was the site people gathered at in the hundreds of thousands to celebrate the end of cold war. Gather here for tourist information-- there's an office in the south wing of the gate. Notice, in the middle of the street, you can see the line where the Berlin Wall once stood; imagine what Brandenburg Gate would say, given the chance.
Parliament Building

Historical Architecture
The Reichstag building is the home of the German Parliament (Bundestag). After reunification in 1990, the building was reconstructed to its current intimidating stone form. The building is notable for its severe appearance and modern glass top dome. Visitors can climb the dome and watch parliament meetings in action when they are occurring. A dedication reading Dem Deutschen Volken, meaning For the German people, is inscribed above the building’s entrance to signify the public duty of those who work within.
Berlin Cathedral

Church
Located on the eastern side of the Museum Island in the city of Berlin, the Berlin Cathedral is backed by the River Spree, which was once the church of the Hohenzollern royal family, whose family members were buried in the basement. The Berlin Cathedral was destroyed in World War II, and the repair work continues to this day, but it is still Berlin's eye-catching landmark, known as the "Museum Island entrance". The three baroque domes are extraordinary, and the four-story building facing the Spree River is decorated in a Baroque palace style, with a splendid style; the bell tower on the west side is still in service, the bells of prayer are long and long; the stairs can be climbed over the cathedral. Admire the stunning views of downtown Berlin from the top.
