Exploring the less crowded and beautiful hidden gems in Western Sichuan
In this bustling world, there are always some places that seem to be isolated from the world, quietly beautiful, waiting for the visit of the destined. Today, let me take you to appreciate the less crowded and beautiful hidden gems in our country's Western Sichuan region, and feel their unique charm.
First, we are going to Dandong Town, Moscow Village, which is a place known as a pure land of bliss. Here, you can see the marmots on the alpine pasture, they are cute and pure, freely shuttle in every corner of the village, as hospitable as the hosts here.
Next, we come to Yamocuo Gen Lake, which is known as the highest and bluest 'sea' in Sichuan. The lake presents a Klein-like dreamy blue, like a dazzling sapphire inlaid on the plateau.
The third stop is Yuke Grassland. If I were to recommend a must-visit place, it would definitely be here. The forests, rivers, snow mountains, flower seas, marmots and grasslands along the way together form the unique scenery of the Western Sichuan grassland.
In Baba Village, there is a place called Baba Sea. Its lake water is so blue that it intoxicates people, no need for a filter, it can heal people's hearts.
The fifth stop is Maisu Duo Waterfall Gully. She is like a girl hidden in the deep mountains, elegant and beautiful yet peaceful and tranquil.
The sixth stop is Dangling Village, Gourd Sea. She is known as another Daocheng Yading on the Western Sichuan Plateau, full of mystery and poetry.
The seventh stop is Li County, Miyaluo. Be sure to see the Bawang Mountain and Yumei Lake, known as the Sichuan version of Gang Rinpoche, and feel the majesty and grandeur of nature.
The eighth stop is Marixiang Coka Lake. This is a fairyland in the real world, as if the heavenly Yaochi fell into the world.
The ninth stop is Maori Township, Lover's Sea. There is a beautiful love legend here, come here with your loved one to pile a Mani pile, to witness your love.
The last stop is Maori Township, Qudong La Lake. It has two extremely opposite nicknames, one is called Liver and Lung Sea, and the other is called Butterfly Sea. Different names, but they all interpret its beauty and mystery.
These ten hidden gems are like pearls on the Western Sichuan Plateau, waiting for your exploration. Here, you can find the pure land of your soul, and feel the magical charm of nature. Let's embark on this journey to find beauty and discover more unknown landscapes!

Pingle Ancient Town in Qionglai, Bamboo Weaving Street.
I finally arrived at the other side of the Anywhere Door, Pingle Ancient Town in Chengdu, the beautiful Qionglai, Pingle Ancient Town🎋
The trip to the ancient town was not as bustling and lively as I imagined. I found a heritage bamboo weaving museum hidden in the corner of the street. The master was weaving strips of bamboo into exquisite works of art, wrapping around the porcelain body of the tea sets🎎
The snacks and handicrafts in the ancient town are affordably priced, with dragon beard candy at 10 yuan for 3 boxes, glass ornaments at 3 yuan each, and sugar syrup stir candy at 3 yuan each, taking me back to my childhood times🍡
The nearby Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea scenic area is also a good place to visit. It takes 3 hours, walking among the bamboo forests, breathing the fresh air, listening to the rustling sound of bamboo leaves, feeling the charm and mystery of nature. The sea of fog makes it seem like one is in a fairyland, dancing with the clouds and mist.

Natural Oxygen Bar - Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea
🚗 1.5 hours from Chengdu to Pingle Ancient Town
🚄 Chengdu South-Qionglai Station 39 minutes 27
Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea - a natural oxygen bar, the scenic area contains natural canyons, tens of thousands of acres of natural bamboo forest growth areas, ecological streams, high-altitude suspension bridges, and glass walkways; the scenic area includes a visitor center, sightseeing driveways, walking trails, cableways, etc.; there are also rest areas, toilets, and beverage sales along the way
The whole journey through the Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea takes about 3 hours. Throughout the mountain, you are sheltered by bamboo and hardly exposed to the sun, except on the glass bridge at the mountain top.
Overall, the air is very good, and the temperature is not too hot. It's highly recommended to visit occasionally to relax and enjoy the natural scenery.
Note: Buying tickets one day in advance is a few yuan cheaper than buying on the same day. If you don't mind, you can also buy them when you arrive. There is a small train included in one of the tickets, but this train is not part of the Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea attractions; it's next to the entrance of the scenic area. A local uncle mentioned it just goes around here. It's nice to see the rapeseed flowers when they bloom, but there are no rapeseed flowers this season. The cableway inside the scenic area was under maintenance, so it was not experienced.
Some people think that the mineral water inside the scenic area is expensive and prefer to buy it outside. In fact, the price of mineral water inside the scenic area is the same as outside, three yuan. It's best to buy from the vending machines inside the scenic area. After passing the glass walkway and reaching the mountain top, there is a rest area without mineral water, but other items are quite expensive.
The paths are easy to walk, and there are places to wade in the water along the way. Some people even climb the mountain in slippers, with the main attraction being wading. It's advised not to carry too much when climbing, just some small snacks.
Pingle Ancient Town - a not-so-large ancient town with many homestays, chess and card rooms, and teahouses. It's not too commercialized and is suitable for a short stay.
Around five or six in the afternoon, when the sun is about to set, it's nice to wade in the river. There are quite a few people, and some swim in the river, but the water doesn't seem very clear. There's also an old man playing the electric piano on the bridge, creating a really good atmosphere and a strong sense of the local people's enthusiasm.
In the ancient town, normal accommodations, dining, and leisure are quite convenient. If you're looking for special local products, there isn't much variety.
Key point: The food is really not recommended. I tried a few places, but the taste was just average, so I don't suggest spending a lot of money on gourmet food. The famously special lamb and milk soup noodles were not impressive, just ordinary, so don't come just for the food.
There are also many fun activities nearby, including rafting, go-karting, mountain off-roading, and blueberry picking.

The most anticipated May Day holiday has finally arrived. A heart that wants to travel is already ready to go, but I have no interest in thinking about the same scenic spots and people who are always crowded.
Recently discovered a hidden net red new favorite around Chengdu, not like the popular landmarks, but can avoid the crowd, play to the intracranial orgasm frequent! That is the Baoshan Mountain in Weinan. When you go there, you know that it has a super-high glass bridge, a 360-degree view without a dead end, and you can enjoy the misty and dangerous peaks on the bridge. The Songnan Mountain is very amazing and exciting. .

Touring ancient towns and water towns around Chengdu, and unexpectedly encountering the God of Wealth Temple
I drove out and went to Xilai Ancient Town and Jiaguan Ancient Town. I originally wanted to continue to Pingle Ancient Town, but found a Nanbaoshan nearby, so I detoured to climb the mountain.
Halfway up the mountain, I found a God of Wealth Temple, where the God of Wealth was worshipped.
After the worship, I got a 'wealth and treasure' copper coin. The master in the temple personally threaded and knotted the rope, which was a pleasant surprise.
The master said that this year will be very good, borrowing the master's auspicious words.

A cost-effective ancient town with beautiful scenery near Chengdu
🏨 Pingle Ancient Town
🌟Highlights:
4A level scenic spot, free admission, very affordable prices, not like other scenic spots with high fees, you can spend with confidence! Straw hats and date paste cakes are much cheaper than in Chengdu!
❤Recommended reason:
There are boat tours available, suitable for family and friends group building activities. My boyfriend and I calculated that for a group of 6 people, it would cost about 50 yuan per person on average, and it seems like you can play for 2 hours. Plus, the river is wide, sitting in the boat drinking tea, chatting, and enjoying the scenery is very comfortable!
The entire trip is very leisurely and pleasant, super suitable for family group building! Great for a fun time with good friends!
🚉Transportation strategy:
For those without a car, you can choose the high-speed train, there are almost always trains from Chengdu to Qionglai, so you don't have to worry about not being able to book a high-speed train ticket.
1. Depart from Chengdu South Railway Station at 9:40 am by high-speed train, after arriving, take the 304 bus directly to Pingle Ancient Town, arriving at the destination around 11 am.
2. To return, go directly from the scenic spot to catch a tricycle and tell the driver to go to the bus station where you can catch a bus back to Chengdu, then take the 308 bus to the high-speed train station to catch the 6:40 pm train. The transportation is very convenient, not tiring at all.
🍽Dining recommendations:
There are many places to eat in the ancient town, after lunch you can stroll around the ancient town, and in the afternoon you can navigate to the Sichuan West Bamboo Sea!
👍Most recommended:
The banks of the river have many tea houses and card rooms, if you are in a group, you can play cards, drink tea, chat, and there are tea houses where you can boil tea around a stove!
If you don't want to spend money, you can take photos and check in around the ancient town, which is very large and particularly suitable for wearing cheongsams and Hanfu for photo shoots!
The ancient town is large and still expanding, with food, drinks, entertainment, and accommodations all available in the town. You can wear Hanfu or cheongsams for photo shoots, boil tea around a stove, play mahjong, or take a small boat to chat and enjoy the scenery, truly a little Jiangnan!

Jiaguan Town Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
This is not a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, but an ancient town that is a 1
5-hour drive from Chengdu.
This place was once known as 'Little Jiangnan of Chengdu' and has a history of more than 2000 years. It is currently in an undeveloped state. That is Jiaguan Ancient Town.
📌: Chengdu Qionglai Jiaguan Ancient Town
🚗 Driving: 1.5h drive from downtown Chengdu
🎫: Free🆓
🍊 About Jiaguan Ancient Town
The whole town has a layout of 'two streets side by side, a river flowing in the middle, and three bridges standing together.' The Baimo River runs through the town, and there are three ancient bridges connecting the two banks: Wanfu Bridge, Yongsou Bridge, and Qingyuan Bridge. On both sides are the stilted buildings built along the water, which are especially beautiful.
🍊 Special Recommendations
1. Ancient trees, stone bridges, old streets, old houses, strolling, drinking tea, fishing, playing mahjong, full of the atmosphere of daily life. Summer is here, you can wade in the water, sit on bamboo rafts, it's simply too cool...
2. The whole town is in its original ecological state, without the commercial taste of other ancient towns, but with an extra dose of nature and simplicity. You can stay in a farmhouse inn or just visit for a day. Local restaurants can be found online. The most important thing is that it's especially cheap. Eel, cold chicken, milk soup noodles, yerba mate... Anyway, we only spent an average of 30 yuan per person.
3. When you arrive at Jiaguan Ancient Town, you'll understand how beautiful the lyrics 'The sky is blue, waiting for the misty rain, and I am waiting for you, with the smoke from the kitchen chimneys rising...' can be.

Surrounding Chengdu! An obscure millennium-old ancient town... A secluded water town in the south of the Yangtze River.
It takes only 1.5 hours to reach this little-known ancient town with a thousand years of history from Chengdu, as if you are in a secluded water town in the south of the Yangtze River. This is an undeveloped ancient town, open for free.
Locals live by the river, where you can see scenes of everyday life such as elderly people chatting and children playing in the water... The shops on the old street also show signs of the years. It's well worth spending a day here over the weekend to experience the local life!
Travel Tips
You can have lunch on the old street when you arrive at noon, and you can park your car on both sides of the old street. The Zouji Restaurant, which has been open for over ten years, is recommended... The milk soup noodle shop opposite is also quite good.
In the afternoon, you can walk up along the river, the residential buildings and towering trees on both sides of the river... are very photogenic! If you get tired, you can sit in a teahouse by the river~ It's quite pleasant!

Here lies a century-old ancient town | Sichuan's Jiangnan water town turns out to be a great spot to check in for the May Day holiday
| Sichuan's Jiangnan water town turns out to be a great spot to check in for the May Day holiday. I stumbled upon this ancient town, and it's just perfect for a leisurely stroll! With its small bridges over flowing water and leisurely moving boats, it's practically a replica of the water towns in the Jiangnan area.
Compared to the nearby ancient towns of Pingle and Xilai, which are just 10 kilometers away, this place has fewer tourists and is super suitable for a leisurely walk.
Standing on high ground, watching the pedestrians on the stone bridges and looking at the reflections in the water, that feeling, tsk tsk, is truly one of tranquil times.
Basking in the sun by the lake, drinking a cup of green tea, writing poetry, walking on the stone bridges, away from the hustle and bustle, quietly enjoying this slow time.
Strolling along the riverbank or spending 20 yuan on a boat tour to appreciate the scenery on both sides is fantastic.
The town is not big, and you can finish touring it in half a day. For dining, I recommend trying the pork intestines, a local specialty; just pick any restaurant and it won't disappoint.
Jiaguan Ancient Town is located in Qionglai, about a 1-hour drive from Chengdu, and it's simply delightful to take a day trip here for the May Day holiday.
On the 3rd, 6th, and 9th, there's also a market in the town, so you can go early during the May Day holiday to check it out.

👣 Travel destination recommendation — Jiaguan Ancient Town
✅ It only takes 1.5 hours to reach this thousand-year-old town from Chengdu, with almost zero commercialization, giving a misty Jiangnan-like feeling. It's not crowded, the scenery is beautiful, and it's super worth a visit!
🔸 Jiaguan Ancient Town is located in Qionglai, with a history of 2300 years. It was once a passageway for the Silk Road and the Ancient Tea Horse Road, with the Baimo River running through the town, dividing it into north and south banks.
🔸 Without the hustle and bustle of people coming and going, nestled against the mountains and by the water, with beautiful scenery, it is definitely a great place for spring outings!
🏡 The ancient town is not big, and one day is just enough to explore. It gets a little busier on market days every three, six, and nine
🌤 In the morning, you can stroll around the ancient town, find a small shop, order a pot of spring tea, and feel the atmosphere of life in the market
🛶 Walking on the ancient stone bridges, admiring the riverside scenery, the town has many ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, blending with the green mountains and waters, like a tranquil landscape painting of the years.
🍃 After lunch, you can head to Jiaguan Tea Mountain in the afternoon, one of the birthplaces of dark tea, which is one of the earliest tea-producing areas.
🌱 It is now the season for spring tea picking, with thousands of acres of tea gardens lush and green. Walking in the tea gardens, taking deep breaths of fresh air, your whole body and mind seem to be enveloped by the breath of spring
🌳 Whether you pick tea with a small basket or sit by the bridge with a pot of tea, both are great choices~
🍚 Dining recommendations: Zouji Restaurant, Linjiang Restaurant, Jiaguan Restaurant
📸 Photography: The riverside and covered bridges of the ancient town, as well as the tea gardens, are very photogenic, suitable for taking photos with an ancient style. Or a plain dress with some small props is also a nice choice

Qionglai Jiaolan Mountain House B&B
Preface
In the Qionglai Chalan scenic area, there stands a B&B with a Chinese style. It is named 'Jiaolan', meaning 'the dust-free pepper and the noble orchid'. The B&B is surrounded by pepper trees, osmanthus trees and Huangjiaolan, which grow naturally in this vibrant and spiritual mountainous wilderness. Jiaolan Mountain House consists of Xie Xia Book House, Jinxiu Pepper House Tonglu B&B, Fengya Art Center and Dieyuan, although it is called a mountain house, it is more like a life experience center. Here, you can read and taste tea at will, and feel the elegance.
Design
The B&B was transformed from an old mansion, and was named 'Dieyuan' because of the ups and downs of the buildings in the courtyard. The staggered exterior walls of Dieyuan are gentle warm yellow, and the closer you get, the more you can feel the delicacy of Dieyuan. The neat green tiles and pepper walls complement each other, and the interior extracts traditional elegant color systems such as vermilion and indigo blue. The eaves and porches are neat and orderly, reflecting the combination of architectural beauty and artistic beauty everywhere.
Rooms
Dieyuan has 5 types of rooms and 9 suites, which fully meet various accommodation needs. The first phase of Tonglu B&B is a new Chinese courtyard renovated from old houses, with a whole independent courtyard. The second phase of Dieyuan is mainly family suites, adjacent to the first phase of Tonglu B&B, which are duplex suites, parent-child suites, garden suites and family suites.
Service
'Jiaolan Mountain House' will accept customized services according to the differentiated needs of guests. From the moment of booking the room, the exclusive butler begins one-on-one tracking service. The daily meals of the guests, the formulation of the surrounding tourist routes, and the suggestions for entertainment will all become the subjects of the butler's professional treatment.
Every day facing the green mountains and tea fields, enjoying the simplicity of traditional culture and the vitality of modern art, let the scenery of the four seasons stay in front of your window. In this simple and harmonious space, light and form all show a leisurely temperament.
