Guandi Temple (Shengping Road)

Travel to Shantou, to the small park to walk around, Shantou Tianhou Palace is located at the junction of Shengping Road and Outer Road in Shantou Old Town, is the temple of the Chaoshan people respected as the mazu of the sea goddess and Guan Yu of Zhongyong Renyi. Since this place used to be the departure place for tide people to leave their hometown to drift the sea to earn a living, they will definitely come here to worship Mazu and pray for the sea road to be safe before departure, so many overseas tide overseas Chinese will return to this temple to visit and return their wishes. There is also a Guandi Temple adjacent to the Mazu Temple. In 1991, hosted by Shantou Cultural Bureau, overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots and local people donated funds to rebuild, and the construction adhered to the principle of "repairing as old as the old", retaining the layout structure of the original building, stone carvings, wood carvings, porcelain and other decorations still show the artistic characteristics of the tide architecture more than 100 years ago.

Ticket-free entry. Although I don't know if it has been renovated here, wood carvings, stone carvings, and porcelain are still worth a closer look. The temple is not big, and I still see some good letters to visit Shangxiang. The location is right next to the mother's palace.

The Guandi Temple on Shantou Shengping Road is next to the Mother Palace. In fact, although the Mother Palace and the Guandi Temple were all built in the morning, it was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Now I see it was repaired in 1991. For the two-entry hard mountain top building, its stone dragon carved dragon column is very exquisite, the second side has large-scale porcelain murals and other distinctive tidal craft characteristics, very historical charm.

From the small park to find the mother palace, so I saw the Guandi Temple, the two are closely connected, from the layout to the decoration are very similar, so that at first I thought it was the mother palace, the two actually independent of each other.
