DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!!!
This is THE worst 4-star hotel experience I've ever had. Room is very average and customer service is appalling.
Firstly, our room had no bathroom door. Literally (look at the picture). There was no door to the bathroom, so anyone who walked past the bathrom would see you with your pants down on the toilet. If you wanted to poo, the smell would drift out into the rest of the room. If you're having a shower, everyone's going to see you butt naked. When we rang the front desk about this, they said that this type of room just had no bathroom door, and that this was normal for this room type. I told them that the pictures on their site all showed doors in their bathroom. They then offered to switch us to a room on level 1 which had a door (which shows that they were just lying to us about the room type at first). We asked if we could be upgraded to a different room (spending extra would've been fine). They said that they were fully booked out, which I suspect was untrue as there was still room availability online. There was no attempt to help us with this problem. They just lied and tried to pretend this was normal. However, we were too tired to argue, so we agreed to move to the level 1 room.
BUT there were other problems instead! The heating only worked above the desk, so the room was cold every morning when we got out of bed or went to the bathroom. The toilet smelled like sewage. On the morning of our last day, the whole hallway on level 1 smelled like sewage. It's also EXTREMELY noisy on level 1, so if you still insist on staying here, make sure to ask for a room on a different level.
Other issues:
- The staff never offered to help with luggage or doors. There are steps up to the hotel and to level 1. We had two big suitcases and two bags, and not a single person came to help with opening the door.
- Bathroom smelled like smoke all the time, even though we booked a non-smoking room.
- The wifi wasn't connecting to our phones at first. The front desk said that this was because our phones were international, so we just couldn't connect to their wifi. We told them that this was incorrect, as we both had Chinese sim cards. Our phones ended up connecting to the wifi (it was just slow to connect), but again, this is an example of the front desk blatantly lying to us.
- The location is good, but there are a lot of hotels in the same area with much better customer service.
