Sofitel Beijing Central

On a whim, my girlfriend and I decided to revisit the Sofitel. We were a bit dazed from the sun, and vaguely heard the front desk mention a room upgrade. To our huge surprise, we opened the door to find a two-room suite! We were lucky enough to catch a heavy rainstorm inside the Second Ring Road, and enjoyed watching the rain from the floor-to-ceiling windows... I also left my driver's license at the front desk, and a big thank you to Ms. Ding Rongrong for keeping it safe for me.

I came here to relax, and it was so hot outside that I pretty much stayed in the hotel the whole time. Facilities: Overall good, but many areas show their age in the details. Plenty of charging ports. I swam in the morning; the pool water was clear, but it got a bit crowded, making it hard to swim, and the water became a bit murky later on. The gym wasn't crowded and had plenty of equipment. I didn't see anyone in B1 when I went. Service: Overall good. Minibar: Has water, soft drinks, and beer.

Linda at the front desk was warm and polite, and check-in was very fast. She was also quick to respond to any requests we had. The hotel's location is excellent, right near Jianguomen Station, making it super convenient to get anywhere in the city center. The room had a fantastic view. Breakfast was abundant, delicious, and had a wide variety of choices that almost overwhelmed us! The staff were all enthusiastic, friendly, and provided efficient service. I'll definitely choose Sofitel again on my next visit.

Staying at this hotel was such a pleasant surprise! Leah at the front desk had the sweetest smile, and the check-in process was surprisingly fast. She also thoughtfully reminded me about breakfast spots nearby and the parking location. When checking out, she proactively asked about my stay and quickly and reliably helped me arrange a taxi. I didn't feel any impatience from her throughout my stay; every little detail was so warm and thoughtful. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in town!

I chose this hotel for my trip to Beijing because of its good location, but I was really disappointed with the professionalism of the front desk staff and the cleanliness of the room. The room was quite spacious and had a large bathtub, but the waterproofing around the tub was terrible. Every time I showered, the floor outside would be soaking wet. Also, the bath mat was dirty for two days straight. I called housekeeping to change it on the first day, but by the second day, I couldn't even be bothered and just threw a towel over it. The headboard was also broken. Honestly, it felt worse than a budget hotel. The front desk staff gave conflicting information. My room included a meal, and first they said it could be delivered to the room, then they said it couldn't. After a lot of back and forth, they finally confirmed it could be delivered. It was all very disorganized.

I have to commend Destin at the front desk! I was exhausted when I arrived at the hotel, but he greeted me with a constant smile and processed my check-in quickly and efficiently. He thoughtfully informed me about breakfast times and elevator locations, and even enthusiastically recommended nearby attractions and authentic local restaurants. He was incredibly patient and thorough when answering my questions. His attentive service truly melted away the fatigue from my journey. Next time I stay, I'll definitely look for him again.

The house is great and spacious, especially the hot tub which is a real highlight with its round shape – soaking in it was amazing. The bed was also huge and very comfortable. Highly recommended, it was excellent!

Although the room facilities are a bit dated, the overall cleanliness is good. The front office staff, particularly Beira, provided exceptionally thoughtful and attentive service. She helped me arrange a room according to my needs and handled the check-in efficiently and patiently. Any requests I had were promptly and properly addressed, and her attitude was warm and friendly. My overall stay was still very comfortable and satisfying. I will definitely prioritize this hotel for my next visit!
