Traveling during the off-peak season, Shamian Island was not crowded at all, and you can get amazing, Instagram-worthy photos just by snapping casually. The room features a minimalist design and is spotlessly clean. The housekeeping staff we met were warm and polite, always greeting us with a smile 😊 whenever they passed by. Sitting by the window, the views along both banks of the Pearl River are completely unobstructed. All in all, I highly recommend friends visiting Guangzhou to come and experience it for themselves!

The room is small, but very clean, and the service is great. We mainly went to the two restaurants, and the food was pretty good too. As northerners, here is what we found delicious: egg tarts, Sampan congee, sunflower chicken, shrimp dumplings, Sachima, siu mai, and Chinese crullers (youtiao). What we didn't like: the rice noodle rolls (changfen) didn't have much meat; the swan pastries looked nice but weren't good and were super greasy; the phoenix claws (chicken feet) were too salty; the steamed pork ribs were too tough to chew. Would definitely stay here again given the chance.

The rooms are clean and elegant, and the service is meticulous and attentive. The staff are warm and courteous, making the entire stay comfortable and delightful. I made sure to check out the dim sum at Jade River. As a Michelin and Black Pearl-rated restaurant, it certainly didn't disappoint. The ambiance is antique and graceful, and the traditional Manchu windows paired with courtyard views exude a strong Xiguan aesthetic. The dim sum is consistently refined; the Suancai/Olive Kernel Sachima in particular was exceptionally delicious and authentic, offering a true taste of Cantonese dim sum culture. Hotel guests enjoy priority dining access, which saves the hassle of waiting in line. It’s a wonderful combination of great food and a top-notch stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Guangzhou!

The White Swan Hotel truly lives up to its reputation as a venerable luxury hotel in Guangzhou. The rooms are spacious with elegant layouts and spotlessly clean – a clear testament to the diligent work of the housekeeping staff. The view from the window offers a stunning panorama of the Xiguan scenery. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the bathroom features high-quality Natura Bissé toiletries. A special shout-out (👍) for the excellent turndown service! Every detail was thoughtfully considered, including a delightful small gift box with delicious shortbread cookies, infused with a unique Lingnan charm, creating a sweet and inviting atmosphere for sleep. The service was truly attentive and impeccable. ❤️👍☺️

The White Swan Hotel has always been a beloved landmark for Guangzhou locals. Although the room decor is a bit dated, the room layout is fantastic! You can enjoy the stunning view of the three rivers converging, and even soak in the tub while overlooking the river. The service deserves full marks, absolutely satisfying! The executive lounge dinner offered a great variety of food, and there was even a cocktail service! However, the breakfast selection at the River Drifting Pavilion was quite limited, and I hope they can improve that.

The hotel is located at the confluence of the Pearl River at White Swan Pool (Baitetan), right next to the famous Shamian Island, with a dedicated walkway along the river leading directly to the property. The hotel lobby features a very unique Lingnan garden landscape, and the traditional water feature attracts many people for photos. It's always bustling with visitors each day, thanks to the renowned Michelin-starred restaurants, Jade River and Spring Pavilion. The specialty restaurants offer fantastic river views, where fish in the river attract flocks of egrets. A truly wonderful stay experience.

The best location along the Pearl River, a symbol of reform and opening up, and the youngest national cultural heritage site. The interior decoration looks as if it's just been handed over. Xiao Liao (Liao Zhanting) is articulate, provides efficient and attentive service, and is quick to respond. The restaurant offers exquisite food and beautiful flora. Staying here, one truly understands the charm of Lingnan, which surpasses all of China, and indeed feels the joy of being a southern king.

This is a hotel I've dreamed of staying at since my student days, and out of all the five-star hotels I've stayed in, it's the first time I've checked in with such a sense of nostalgia. Choosing to stay here for my parents' wedding anniversary turned out to be the right decision. First of all, the river view room offered an absolute breathtaking view, which made my parents so happy. Secondly, the hotel service was fantastic. On top of that, when the hotel found out it was my parents' wedding anniversary, they surprised us with a complimentary cake (I didn't expect it to be quite a large one, and it tasted amazing, too). Overall, it was a wonderful stay.
