The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou

For my trip to Guangzhou, I chose two hotels, each with its own advantages. The Ritz's location is absolutely superb! Staying in a tower-view room, you get breathtaking panoramic views of Canton Tower and the Pearl River at night. The lobby staff at the Ritz are incredibly professional, treating guests with warmth and enthusiasm. The room, though showing its age a bit, is clearly very well-maintained. It was clean and tidy. During my stay, I developed a bit of a cough, and when I called the front desk to ask for more drinking water, they promptly delivered an entire case. I'm very grateful for that! The hotel's breakfast restaurant also has a bit of an old-fashioned charm. Since it was Chinese New Year, there were a lot of guests, but everything was very orderly. While the breakfast offerings weren't particularly refined, they were perfectly adequate. The hotel is also conveniently located right next to the Guangdong Provincial Museum and Guangzhou Library, making it a highly recommended place to stay.

Got an upgraded room on a higher floor. The hotel facilities are clean and well-maintained. The service is exceptional, truly nothing to complain about. Both breakfast and dinner were quite good. There was even a lion dance performance on the first day of ***** New Year. They provide canned water in the rooms, which is a nice touch. The location is super convenient for walking to the museum, the riverside, and Canton Tower. The only minor issue is that the air conditioning was a bit too strong.

The hygiene was almost spotless, and the service was excellent. However, the hotel's soundproofing is poor, and the varying quality of guests is a common issue, leading to noise that almost made me leave a bad review. But the staff did their absolute best. The hotel should especially thank Connie, the manager of the Foods restaurant, who made us feel completely at home, as if we were visiting friends. Doris, Sofie, and Aria also saved the overall impression. The duty managers, Mia and Yannis, were also very kind. Focusing on the people rather than the issues, the hotel should be proud to have such wonderful employees. A special thanks also to Manager Fang for the thoughtful little gift. I will definitely visit again.
