Hotel Postgaarden I Mariager

This is a very genuine place, historical, true to its origins, nice people, good service, excellent Danish food, beer, wine, and drinks.

What a wonderful and charming hotel! The staff were polite and friendly. Ate at the restaurant and enjoyed the shooting star dish. The town is almost fairytale like with cobble stone lined streets and old wattle and daub construction. Very quiet and peaceful, we hope to return someday.

We had a very nice stay. Just as expected. Of course we were melting in our room, due to the rare danish tropical nights - without air-condition or fans of any kind in the room. It´s a lovely OLD hotel, so we didn´t expect that either. But there was a little something: For once I left my blowdryer at home. Unfortunally the hotel was unable to lend me one. This should be possible to provide.

When we came - 2 old Danes - the hotel was overbooked, we were asked to go to a hotel in Hobro, but as we came by train/bus, we wanted to stay at Hotel Postgården - we made a reservation 1 månth ago. We sat 1 hour without beeing treatet food or drinks - asked for a glass of water. My husband 88 years old, was very tired and dehydrated because of the temperature 20 degrees. After 1 hour we vere given a taxi to the railwaystation to go home. A very bad experience - and a very lack of giving us a little food and coffie/drink while wating for a solution of this overbooking problem.
