We booked here for our honeymoon. We chose this B&B because we didn't want a faceless hotel, but we won't be doing so again. I emailed a week in advance to advise we would be arriving late and got no reply or instructions. On arrival there was no number to call and no one answering the door. We eventually found a number online and called, only to be told to go round the corner to a bar to collect our keys. This would have all been fine had we known in advance. I was genuinely worried we would not be able to get access. Our room was as described (but the toiletries in our 'deluxe' room could be improved upon), but as we tried to go to sleep it was clear we would not be able to. The double window/door opposite our bed had broken shutters which would not close and instead hung open, letting in a lot of light and most importantly loads of street noise. The noise continued all night. we genuinely slept a total of about 45 minutes. In the morning I tearfully spoke to the owners and explained we had had no sleep at all, and the window shutter was broken. I showed them it was broken, they just said that Monday night's were 'not noisy'. They did not try to fix the window or even look at it. They did not offer us another room or any support or solutions. I realised I was going to have to choose between paying for another hotel or saving my money and not sleeping for the next 5 nights. I began to cry and they said 'I dont understand why you are crying' and I said 'we have had no sleep' and 'this is all our wedding money'. They just looked at me like I was crazy and said 'no refunds' as I handed the keys back to them in tears and my new husband began looking for another hotel. Horrible experience that genuinely marred the rest of our honeymoon and made me feel horrible too.
