I booked this hotel for a one night stay for our trip to nyc. The room was very outdated despite their claim that their rooms are newly renovated, which wouldn’t have been an issue at all if our room had been clean, which it was not. There was trash behind and underneath all the furniture and in some of the drawers. Stains on the blanket, towels and pillows.
We checked in right at 2 pm, dropped out stuff down and left for nyc. We came back around 1 am. We turned off all the lights except one just settling in for the night, when suddenly I saw something scurry across the TV. I immediately jumped up to investigate, and it was a cockroach. I shined my phone flashlight on it and it scurried away. Then I shined my light all around the TV stand hoping I didn’t just see an effing cockroach in my room, and that’s when I saw ANOTHER cockroach crawl inside of the microwave vent.
I immediately called front desk to report it. I requested a new room but they were fully booked. I asked what they can do for me and they said sorry you’ll just have to wait for housekeeping tomorrow morning. So we ended up checking out and leaving around 1:30 am. They never offered me a refund.
This is probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in the area, and we have stayed in MANY rooms throughout NJ at a very similar price point that were always freshly renovated and thoroughly cleaned. I would really like a refund for this room, It was a horrible experience.
