Bad sound and your cell phone was locked in a magnetic pouch
We went to the Fair Park Music Hall for a Bob Dylan concert. I have not been to this venue since the early 80's for the musical Cats. The sound was sooo bad that I could not understand any of the musical lyrics. I had not been back until last night. First strike, the Music Hall made us play our phones in a magnetically sealed bag which would be unsealed after the event. My son is a commercial pilot and was on call. I am a physician and also on call. They still made us place our phones in these sealed pouches. This is not a Bob Dylan policy as my brother has seen him many times with the last performance within the last 6 months. Second strike, the sound has not improved since the 80's. You can go a RENT a headset to improve the quality of the performance. We left after 4 songs because we needed to have our phones available to promptly answer for our professions. The decision to leave was easier as the performance was so bad. I will not return to this venue.

I can not imagine a worse venue to watch a musical. The Musical Hall is designed to have a large number of people without an understanding of the quality of the show. Sound quality has always been bad here. If you are sitting towards the back, the sight lines are awful, it was just not built with enough angle to the seats. Everyone in back of the lower level is constantly moving to try and see the show around or through heads. Seeing Tina this weekend, the ushers were more concerned with people filming the show than anyone actually watching it. On no fewer than a dozen occasions they spotlighted with flashlights people in the crowd for having their phones out. Overall, just a bad experience, I really wish musicals came to better venues in Dallas.

My wife and I went here to see MJ, and we are season tickets holders. This was our first visit, and we were really impressed with how large it was inside. We were on the balcony and could see and hear everything really well. Before the show, we went into the dining area for a few drinks, and the bartender was really nice and told us all about the building and the surrounding areas. The only mark again the place was that the restaurant was very expensive, $35 each for a brunch buffet, the drinks were also a little expensive, but we'll made 🍸. We are looking forward to future visits.
