Imagination is expanded by just the information board.

For fans, it's okay to just have an information board. You should be able to feel the breath of a hero beyond time and space. During the period of 19/7/1-12/31, Litfaszoire stands in the "Minami Hokkaido The Story of the Last Samurai" campaign.
Historical fans of the site of the shinsengumi headquarters and Toshizo hijikata are also meaningful in the historic site guide

Access is from the intersection of Hakodate City Tram Omachi tram stop and go up Yayoizaka, which extends toward Mt. Hakodate, and you will see Yayoi Elementary School on your left. There is a warehouse near the elementary school, and in front of the warehouse is a historic site guide written as "Shinsengumi Tonsho Site".
What kind of famous place is "Shinsengumi Garrison Site"? When I was thinking, there was an information board facing the road of the hotel where I stayed. That's it. Maybe there was an old warehouse, but is that so? It is one of my "unfortunate points in Hakodate". However, there were books and goods related to Shinsengumi in the lobby of Motomachi Hotel, so it seems that it is here.

From the intersection of Hakodate City Tram Omachi tram stop, go up Yayoizaka, which extends straight toward Mt. Hakodate, and you will see Yayoi Elementary School on your left. The warehouse near the elementary school is the site of Shinsengumi Tonsho. There is an information board so you can easily see it. There was Shomeiji Temple around here until the great fire in 1880 (Meiji 12). Shomyoji Temple was a consulate in the United Kingdom and France at the end of the Edo period, and during the Hakodate War, it was a "Shinsengumi no Tonsho".
If you go up Yayoizaka, you will find an elementary school. A historic site guide was built near it. It seems that there was a Shinsengumi tomb where security was guarded during the Hakodate War. Hakodate Motomachi Hotel was now built.

There's only a guide board...
