As the ancient and still the longest lasting capital city of Siam, there are so many temples scattered across the city, i'd say any cross road was showing ancient ruins of what it was supposed to be a golden capitol. The guide of our half-day tour told us about the story until the city was destroyed during the was with neighboring countries. The temples were covered by 25 carat gold, but despite that what is left today gives a clear idea of the majestic times. These buildings are truly amazing.
