The NC Maritime Museum is a showcase of all things sea! Classic old work boats and relics from life on the water are on display throughout the museum.

A very interesting museum managed by delightful volunteers

Very interesting historical displays from earliest times to the present. I found the display on the old Revolutionary War Loyalists to be especially interesting.

Interesting museum

This is a small museum on the history of Southport and the NC coast. There is a telescope that allows an up-close view of the lighthouses.

Great for kids and adults

The staff is very welcoming and eager to share their knowledge. There's interesting history for young and old alike. And best of all it's FREE!!

A wonderful museum...Southport is lucky to have it. The history is fascinating and the exhibits are beautifully displayed. The museum has one of two or three Type 14 Periscopes used on the USS DOLPH...
