It’s said that it’s the first island in China to see the sunrise. Firstly, it’s absolutely tiring to reach the island. 🥱We take High-speed Rail from Shanghai to Ningbo, then take bus from Ningbo to Shenjiamen, then ferry from Shenjiamen to Dongji Island, then another ferry to Dongfushan Island. It takes almost a day.😔 It’s a very natural island, except for a large number of homestays, there are few traces of commercialization, especially compared to Dongji Island. There’s no takeout service on the island. Barbecue and seafood are all over the island. And they are all cheap and delicious. But it’s not easy to find a drink store, even a supermarket. And all these snacks and drinks are expensive because it really takes some energy to send these products to the island. There’re no high buildings, only small hills, so it’s easy to see the sunset on the balcony of the room. And also they don’t even have much streetlights at night. So when walking down the road at night, you could hear the sound of waves hitting the rocks on one side, and the big shadow of the mountains on the other side. Even not much people on the road. It’s a beautiful place that you could touch the true nature and be quite to yourself. But you may feel a little bit boring after several days there haha.
