Stayed here for one night and 20 minutes drive from the restaurant because I booked the only Misan restaurant in the Lake District. The hotel is located in the countryside next to the lake area. The room decoration is very beautiful and the service is good. I heard that the restaurant we booked was very happy. The parking lot was large and the hotel itself had a good restaurant.
Located in Barrow-in-Furness, The Townhouse Boutique Hotel is within a 15-minute walk of Barrow Park and Holker Street Stadium. This inn is 1 mi (1.6 km) from Park Leisure Centre and 1 mi (1.7 km) from The Dock Museum.
Enjoy a meal at the restaurant, or stay in and take advantage of the inn's room service (during limited hours). Quench your thirst with your favorite drink at the bar/lounge. Continental breakfasts are available daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM for a fee.
Free self parking is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 12 individually decorated guestrooms, featuring kitchenettes. 42-cm flat-screen televisions with digital programming provide entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. Conveniences include refrigerators and coffee/tea makers, and housekeeping is provided daily.
Absolutely bang on for central location, only a couple of minutes walk to all the eating places & bars, very nice buffet breakfast or continental breakfast if required, very clean rooms & friendly staff. Excellent service from start to finish. Will definitely be returning to the Belsfield in the future
The hotel is relatively remote, but the environment is surprising, the rooms are clean, the backyard lawn is very comfortable, and the children are having fun. There is no place to eat nearby, only dinner at the hotel. It is estimated that usually only local people will go there. The service capacity is limited. Dinner can only be seated at a designated time, but the dishes are more delicate.
Charming historic stay at Hundith Hill Hotel in Whitehaven - recently converted, still showing signs of being under redevelopment but full of character. Room clean with high-quality bedding (though bed too soft); bathroom functional but some elements a bit worn. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Recommended!
Had a lovely 2 night break away from 26th December and the hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, gave local knowledge and recommendations on where to go walking… the breakfast was good value for money and caters for both vegetarians and vegans. There may not be onsite car parking but the recommended car parking made available at the local cricket club for only £2 per day is only 4 minutes walk away and convenient. Thank you also for all the communication before our stay, greatly appreciated 😊
I have grave misgivings about hotels in the busiest parts of the Lake District, especially at holiday times. Obviously they will be relentlessly overcrowded, with harassed and unfriendly staff. I’ve wanted to go back to the Proper Lake District for a while though so took a risk on the King’s Head. It’s easy to find on the ear popping main road up from Grasmere, just beyond the impressive hulk of Steel Fell, close to Thirlemere. Parking anywhere in the Lakes is hideous and expensive. Not here. Relaxed and plenty of room. It’s a long building with a pleasant bar restaurant area and beer garden. I found a rather pleasant residents lounge where a lady called Jo checked me in and made me feel welcome. It does get busy with passing trade but the staff look after their residents. They flogged me decent real ale and Jura whisky (the proper stuff). Breakfast is briskly table served from a menu and is well presented. I didn’t eat otherwise there but the food is popular and well priced. The road outside is busy and a bit of a racetrack, and the occasional fighter jet roars between the mountains on low altitude practice, but the relentless bleating of the sheep opposite soon returns things to normal. I was a little sorry to depart, but the manager said he hoped I would come again. I believe I will, and will even bring my wife.
I arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist. As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water. The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems. I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area.
A beautiful property. Everything is very clean and location very good. Service staff also very friendly, makes you come back and order more. We took a bigger room as had luggage for comfort. Everything went well. Very close to a hike trail with nice top views of Windermere lake
I have only good things to say! Room was very spacious and lovely for the both of us and had everything you needed. We stayed in a triple room for 2 of us (but in the end room had 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds but no problems with that of course). Bed was very comfortable, shared showers and toilets outside were clean, spacious and bright. Counter staff Matt in particular was incredibly helpful and friendly, and helped us figure out a way to hike Blencathra via Sharp Edge in the morning, informed us of bus availabilities and schedules etc. They also allowed us to store luggage with them while we hiked and allowed us to use their toilets and showers to freshen up after the hike. We also had lunch there and food was delicious!! Really great hotel very value for money. Thank you!
It was nice we got a newly refurbished room but we were there really late to check in due to cancelled train we had an awful experience! However the staff at George inexperienced could find my booking and wanted me to leave in a few hours after 12am in the dark another staff member came found the booking - he said that staff doesn’t have access - rather than admit he didn’t have access he wanted to kick me out! Even tough I showed him my booking and shared the booking reference! After that stares it was ok.. the staff were lovely! Forgot the veg sausages in my breakfast! It was so delicious we didn’t notice until after breakfast! Anyway 7 out of 10! This was only because of that staff member and the sausages! The place was vintage and homely but very clean!
