Hotels With Bar in Melaka State, Malaysia

Always my go-to hotel whenever I go to Melaka. Love the amenities, convenience, food and service. However, this time round the check in staff wasn't so helpful in assigning me my requested high floor despite my early check-in processing first before getting the keys at 3pm. I approached her again at key collection time at 3pm, yet she dud nothing on my request. I wiuld say her service was too perfunctory and mechanical for a first contact point counter staff. This is not the same good service I used to received countless times from other past visits. Hope the managrment step up her training before she tarnish the hotel reputation.

A proper hotel with its own parking compund. The hotel is quite new, with sufficient facilities like swimming pool and gym area. The room is spacious and complete with the basic toiletries. The aircond was good and cleanliness of the whole room is average. The only small problem with my room was the shower area. There's some sort of blockage with the drain but overall the shower experience was good with steady strong current flow. Overall, this hotel is very well worth the price of slightly above RM100.

It was a pleasant stay at the hotel, it was during CNY, and coincidentally they have the lion dance, so it was fun to watch.

The hotel has a pool, which the kids absolutely loved. Downstairs, there are plenty of dining and massage options. Free parking is a huge plus for self-drivers! Plus, there's a fantastic fish ball shop, Guilinggao (herbal jelly), and durian shop nearby!

This hotel just opened two months ago, right by the sea near Portuguese Settlement. I didn't have high expectations initially, but I was so pleasantly surprised! The hotel is backed by the ocean, and there's a clean, beautiful pool right in the courtyard. The breakfast was rich and clean – especially the bread, which clearly wasn't pre-made, and the fruit was super fresh. It felt much more genuine than some of the five-star hotels in downtown Kuala Lumpur! Even at 9 or 10 PM, you could still order food from the hotel restaurant, and the quality here was genuinely high compared to outside options. This morning, the hotel even had a lion dance performance, which added to the festive atmosphere. The hotel manager really pays attention to service details, which is absolutely essential for a great hotel. Having a fresh, high-quality breakfast in the morning is a wonderful start to the day, and you can even swim in the pool after coming back at night. A Grab taxi to Jonker Street is only about 8-10 RM away. It's very quiet at night, with a gentle sea breeze and the pool. It reminded us of beautiful places we'd traveled to before and even brought back memories of my partner's hometown. Because of this, we spontaneously decided to extend our stay for two more nights. Highly recommend everyone to stay here! (The only minor thing to note is that the air conditioning in the rooms can be a bit noisy. Hopefully, they can improve this. It gets quite warm at night, so you need the AC, and it would be great if it didn't blow directly on you.) 1) The room cleanliness and linens were excellent; the towels were tumble-dried, and the sheets were neatly ironed. 2) The staff were warm and friendly. 3) The environment was outstanding, quiet, and beautiful. 4) The breakfast was exquisite and clean. The chicken sausage was the only one with a normal texture among the seven or eight hotels we've stayed at in Malaysia. The à la carte restaurant didn't disappoint either; you could tell the watermelon juice was fresh (many places serve overnight juice). Thank you to the hotel for their dedication, which made our vacation wonderful. If we ever return to Malacca, The Lisbon Malacca will definitely be our top choice.

My favorite hotel in Malacca! The design has an old-money feel, very artistic. The breakfast is special, with local Indian pancakes that taste great. The bathroom in the room has a bathtub, and my window overlooks a river. The parking lot behind the hotel is also very spacious. It offers great value for money. The front desk staff are very polite. They even offered a welcome drink and flower cookies that reminded me of my childhood. It truly brought me back to my younger days. I love this hotel so much and will definitely stay here again!

The duvet had some yellowish stains. As for the shower head, there were some water stains that weren't cleaned off properly. The facilities, like the swimming pool, were actually very small and shallow. They call it a 'recreation center,' but it's really just the size of a small restroom. (However, for the price of 100, it's not bad at all. I personally think it offers great value for money.)

This hotel has a charming retro vibe, with every detail thoughtfully designed. The rooms are spacious, and both the river-view terrace and river-view bathtub are perfect for photos. At check-in, I requested an extra bed, which cost an additional MYR 78, plus taxes. The staff efficiently brought my luggage to the room and made up the extra bed. The location is great – a short walk along the river takes you to the Red Square, St. Paul's Church, and Jonker Street.

Hygiene: Very good. Facilities: A mix of new and old, it's renovated, but just okay. No conditioner or lotion provided. Service: Since we arrived from Singapore by cruise, we got to the hotel around 9 AM. We dropped off our luggage and went for a walk. It was incredibly hot, so by 12 PM, after sightseeing and eating, we returned to the hotel and asked if we could check in early. They refused... At around 1 PM, our little one really needed a nap, so we asked again and finally got a room. Sigh. Compliant with rules but not very empathetic. The service industry really needs a bit more human touch. The concierge, however, was excellent. Environment: The swimming pool is clean, but it gets direct afternoon sun and closes exactly at 7 PM. Breakfast is good, but if you absolutely need Chinese food, you might consider skipping it and heading to the tea restaurant about 15 meters to the left of the hotel entrance, which is a better option. One side of the hotel faces the sea, and the other faces the Malacca River bay, both are nice views.

Let me give a thorough review of this hotel! This was my second stay, and I feel it's necessary to start with the first visit. About 7 or 8 years ago, when the hotel first opened, I stayed for one night. In the middle of the night, there was a false fire alarm. The crucial point was that the fire alarm broadcast was in Malay. For an emergency like a fire, shouldn't the primary language be English? Our whole family walked down the stairs from over the 10th floor to the ground floor, only to find it was a false alarm. Imagine, half-asleep in the middle of the night, dragging family members down the stairs, and we also encountered many elderly people descending. We didn't complain that time; we understood, as it had just opened. We just reported the situation, and the hotel didn't say much. After 7 or 8 years, I decided to experience it again and booked two nights. I was a bit disappointed upon check-in because the large shopping mall next door was closed, and the surroundings seemed desolate. 'Oh well,' I thought, 'I'll just get some rest early.' Our habit is to leave a light on in the bathroom at night for convenience. Unfortunately, the bathroom glass had no curtain, so the light was completely unobstructed (photos attached as proof). After finally falling asleep, the power in our room went out in the middle of the night, waking up the whole family due to the heat. The room and hallway were pitch black. Please try to imagine that feeling of darkness. I called the front desk, and they said our floor had a power outage, but not the rest of the hotel. Eventually, the power came back on. However, our whole family couldn't get back to sleep from 4 AM until dawn. The next day, I contacted Trip.com and the duty manager. The hotel agreed to change our room, and the duty manager offered two complimentary buffet dinners. This message is purely to express my genuine feelings. The hotel rooms are quite spacious, the bed is a bit soft, there's significant afternoon sun, and the air conditioning temperature control isn't very responsive. However, the hotel staff are truly excellent, providing sincere service. But the thought of poor sleep at the hotel, the unobstructed bathroom light, the false fire alarm, and the power outage issues truly make it difficult for us to return. Melaka is quite quiet now, and while the hotel has such wonderful staff, the hardware aspects are a real shame. If improvements can be made, please let us know, and we might consider experiencing it again. I sincerely wish the hotel a prosperous business.
