This is a really warm and cozy hotel. From the moment you step into the lobby, the kind and lovely front desk staff handle check-in with meticulous care. The room and restaurant service staff are polite, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The self-parking area is spacious and well-organized. I highly recommend staying here.

Zhangye isn't a large city, so staying near the West High-Speed Rail Station is convenient. It's mostly residential around here, so the environment is generally quiet. Taxis are easy to find, and it's only a couple of kilometers to the city center, costing a very cheap six or seven yuan.
The only minor drawback is that you have to walk a bit with your luggage after getting off the high-speed train. I'd recommend just taking a taxi directly.
After a terrible stay in Dunhuang for the first two nights, I really put my trust in an international brand, and the management level is completely different. Hampton Inn isn't luxurious, but it has everything you need. Plus, the hotel is new, the soundproofing is excellent, and you can choose a memory foam pillow, which is great for people with neck problems. Also, the laundry room is fantastic! It started snowing in the morning and my pants and clothes got wet, but I was able to wash and dry them immediately after going back at noon, which was incredibly practical!
Because I had a late flight, the front desk allowed me a late check-out, which was great.
There's bottled water available on every floor, and plenty of seating in the lobby on the first floor, so you don't have to worry about lingering, and charging is convenient. The breakfast is decent, and considering it's around 300 yuan a night, it's quite reasonable.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel and highly recommend it for anyone staying in Zhangye.

The location is fantastic, right by the Dang River. It's a five-minute walk to Dunhuang Bookstore, and parking is free. Driving to Crescent Lake, the airport, and Mogao Grottoes all take about fifteen minutes. Shazhou Night Market and Dunhuang Museum are also close by, about a five to six-minute drive. Right behind the hotel is Shunzhang Yellow Noodle Restaurant, and there are snack stalls on the south side of Jinshan Alley in the evenings. They were doing road construction near the entrance when I was there, which made getting in and out a bit inconvenient, but everything else was great. I booked the Mulan King Room, which had a humidifier, a smart speaker, and convenient electric curtains. The room was clean, and the water pressure was excellent, making for a really comfortable shower – almost surprisingly good for Dunhuang! The breakfast selection was quite varied; over three days, the cold and hot dishes rarely repeated. The beef noodle chef deserves high praise, his noodles were very authentic, and the lamb soup was also delicious. I had originally planned to try some local breakfast spots, but ended up eating all three breakfasts at the hotel. I overheard a customer ask for 'lamian' (pulled noodles), and I could tell the chef wasn't thrilled by the term, but he still freshly pulled a bowl for them, haha. I also find it a bit jarring to hear 'lamian' in Gansu, even as a non-local; it's always better to call it 'beef noodles' here. The off-season price was really good value. I'd definitely stay here again. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to see the sand dunes of Mingsha Mountain from the Dang River. The hand soap had a slightly odd smell and could be changed. They provide laundry detergent, which is a nice touch. Pictures 5 and 6 are of the hotel lobby, pictures 2 and 4 show the scenery by the Dang River, and picture 3 is of the bookstore.

Perhaps because I stayed for four consecutive nights, I was upgraded directly to an executive twin room upon check-in. It was on a very high floor and, as per my request, didn't face the main street, but I could still see Zhangye West Station from there. It's incredibly close to the West Station. Every day, they provided snacks, two oranges, and yogurt, though the yogurt's expiration date was a bit close. Breakfast is on the first floor, and the hot dishes were different every day during my stay. They also had specialty beef noodles and 'beef small rice' (牛肉小饭), so there was no need to go elsewhere for those. The lobby also offered complimentary packed hot coffee and snacks every morning. Finally, at check-out, they provided a complimentary car service to Zhangye West Station, and everyone's service attitude was superb.
The minor drawbacks were: the soundproofing in the room was a bit poor; I could clearly hear next door when they moved things or chairs; and the hair in the bathroom wasn't cleaned daily.
Otherwise, everything else was excellent.

Dunhuang Hotel location is fantastic. Very near night market that all tourists go to in evening. There is also a very big local product and wet market about 6minutes walk away to experience local live style and local food.
Hotel staff at reception and restaurant on the sixth floor over the 3 days were very courteous and greet guests as they exit or enter the hotel.
The cleaning staff were also very pleasant and meticulous in their cleaning duties even in common areas.

The hotel wasn't really up to standard. I booked an 'honourable room' because it had an air purifier. However when I tried to cool down the room with the air con it didn't work. I called reception and they said the air con wasn't turned on and only 'natural ventilation' was available! And this was when the air pollution outside was at very high levels.
Really not acceptable in a supposed 4-star hotel that advertises that it has air con - this is part of the reason I booked! The staff were as helpful as they coukd be under the circumstances - they bought in a fan which made the temperature bearable.

Navigating by car was easy, and there's parking available both in front and behind the hotel. The room was well-equipped with smart features, including a humidifier. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, always ready to help – truly fantastic. Breakfast offered a good variety and tasted great. The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of dining options nearby, especially Brothers Barbecue, which was outstanding. Several attractions are within walking distance, making my trip to Wuwei very enjoyable. The only minor drawback was a slight odor in our room.
This is my second stay at this hotel. I came straight here from the train station, and the Mercure's location is excellent. The hotel's facilities and services are superb – I absolutely love it! The rooms are spacious, bright, and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was also fantastic. I'll definitely choose Mercure again next time.
While here, I met guests from Shanghai, Guangdong, Northeast China, and even Japan. As a visitor from Sichuan, it felt like a homecoming, especially since Tianshui was part of the Shu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period!

I mainly came here to see the Jiayuguan Pass, which is very close to the hotel. It's a very relaxed, slow-paced small town. There's a large lake next to the hotel called Donghai, and it was very pleasant to stroll by the lake in the morning. The hotel service was very good and polite. A big thank you to the front desk lady for upgrading my room; it was a bit large for just one person.

The hotel rooms are incredibly spacious, truly enormous! Even if it's peak season and a bit pricey, five people wouldn't feel cramped in there. 😂
The hotel is brand new, and all the facilities are excellent. I visited in March, and they had underfloor heating, air conditioning, a humidifier, and an automatic toilet. The bed was super comfortable, and I really appreciated having both soft and firm pillows – I slept great for several nights.
Breakfast was quite lavish for the area, and I personally loved it. They also provide plenty of bottled water in the room; you can just ask for more if you run out. The front desk even offers small items like masks.
Indeed, the hotel has a comfortable Mercedes minivan for airport or train station transfers, and everyone seemed to have a great experience with it.
Finally, they even gave me a windproof headscarf and a small camel souvenir. 😊 I'll definitely choose this place again next time; it's also very close to the night market.

GGuest UserMy stay here was absolutely fantastic, completely exceeding my expectations. The hotel's location is super convenient, with plenty of dining and shopping options nearby, making getting around a breeze. The room was spotless; no strange odors from the carpet or bedding, and the mattress was just right – not too soft, not too hard. The soundproofing was excellent too, which meant I actually got a truly restful night's sleep, a rarity for me in hotels. What really impressed me were the thoughtful service details. The front desk attendant checked me in quickly and even proactively asked if I'd prefer a higher floor, then upgraded our room! Even the cleaning staff greeted us with a smile. There were complimentary snacks and white fungus soup in the room, and you could ask the front desk for a foot soak tub between 6 PM and 11 PM. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, hot water instantly, and strong water pressure – perfect for washing away the day's fatigue. It's truly rare to find a room of such quality and warmth at this price point. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time I'm in the area.
XXiaoQbumojiOverall, I'm satisfied. The price isn't expensive, so it offers decent value for money.
Facilities: The room itself is quite good, on par with your typical Mercure or Ji Hotel in a city. However, there's a disconnect with the public facilities like the laundry room, elevators, and restaurant, which are a bit subpar, more like a guesthouse.
Environment: It's right next to the night market, so the location is excellent. There's also a shuttle bus across the street that goes to the Mogao Grottoes.
Hygiene: There were some blind spots for cleanliness. On the day I checked in, there was still a positioning sticker from the previous guest's bathtub liner stuck to the tub. It's not a major issue, but it does show the level of hygiene.
For around 200 yuan, it's a very good price. If it were peak season, they'd need to improve a bit more. I regret not taking photos of the interior, but the hotel's pictures are accurate and trustworthy; the actual room is exactly as shown.
SSanbingyouyongThe room was spacious, and the linens were clean and tidy. Both hot and cold water had good pressure. There was a foot bath, and they provided apricot tea drinks and snacks. They gave us 8 bottles of water at once, and delivered a complimentary bowl of拌面 (mixed noodles) every day. The breakfast had local specialties and a good variety. The front desk staff, floor attendants, and restaurant staff were all very enthusiastic and helpful. The only downside was that the windows in the rooms facing the street had poor sound insulation, and we could hear cars passing by at night.
GGuest UserAmazing value for money! I got a luxurious experience for a very reasonable price, what a pleasant surprise!
This hotel truly exceeded my expectations! I never thought I'd book such a high-end hotel for such a great price.
From the moment I walked in, I could tell it had great taste. The interior decor uses high-quality materials and has a fantastic design. The room decor was very unique and stylish, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable – I slept like a baby. The service was impeccable; all the staff were super warm and friendly, always ready to help, which made me feel very welcome. Breakfast also deserves praise, with a wide variety of delicious and exquisitely prepared dishes.
Even my picky German husband raved about this hotel. Next time we bring the kids for a trip, we'll definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!
GGuest UserWhen traveling to Dunhuang, I wanted to book a quiet hotel and chose this hotel. The result was unexpectedly good. Not only was it quiet, but the environment was also very good and very cultural. The preface to the Lanting Collection was carved on the wall of the lobby. I heard it was written by the boss. . The service was also very friendly. Check-in was quick, they answered all our questions and sent us to the room. The room is also very warm, the facilities are new and complete, and there is a humidifier. It is really good to have a humidifier in Northwest China. The bathtub also comes with a disposable bathtub cover, so you can take a bath with confidence. I came back very late from my trip to the Western Front. I asked for two extra pairs of slippers, which were delivered quickly. Good hotel, good service!

GGuest UserI chose this hotel for my trip, and the room was thoughtfully furnished. The twin beds were very spacious, and two adults could comfortably stay in one room. The bedding was clean, pure white, soft and gentle on the skin, and provided just the right amount of support. After a long day of business travel, I could fall asleep immediately. The upholstered headboard was a thoughtful touch, preventing discomfort when using my phone at night. The placement of power outlets and switches was also very convenient, making charging and controlling the lights easy. The hotel's attention to detail was evident; the throw pillows and bed runner were stylishly coordinated, not the generic hotel furnishings, but rather a comfortable and inviting touch. There was also a lounge chair by the window, perfect for relaxing in the afternoon sun or enjoying a cup of tea. Cleanliness was impeccable. The sheets and duvet covers were spotless and odorless, the floors and surfaces were impeccably clean, and the bathroom was spotless and tidy, giving me peace of mind. The staff were also very attentive, checking me in quickly and patiently answering any questions. Overall, the service was excellent, making me feel very comfortable.
It's very close to the museum and Crescent Lake, making it very convenient to get around and providing a great experience. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, I highly recommend choosing this place!

GGuest UserTraveling from Guangzhou, I've stayed at several hotels during my road trip, and while most have been satisfactory, this one truly stands out as the best. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious. It's hard to believe how they manage to provide such high-quality service at such an affordable price. I even extended my stay for an extra night. Today, as I was preparing to leave, I opened a small box on the desk in my room and was genuinely surprised to find a sewing kit, pencils, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, and a stapler inside! This incredible attention to detail is evident in many other aspects of their service, which is truly heartwarming. Zhangye is also a lovely city with abundant tourist attractions nearby; staying at this hotel makes a trip to Zhangye absolutely worthwhile.
I do have one small suggestion (purely a personal preference and not a criticism of the hotel): I dislike being disturbed. For things like fruit or milk deliveries, it would be great if the hotel could ask guests upon check-in if they want these amenities. If not, then there's no need to send them. I specifically told the front desk not to send anything when I checked in, but I still had my door knocked a few times, which was a little annoying. However, this minor issue doesn't detract from my overwhelmingly positive impression of this hotel. I will definitely recommend it to my friends.
MM297820****I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dunhuang, especially if you're traveling with an elder and a child like I was (three people in total). I originally booked a standard room, which was cheaper, but when we arrived, the front desk attendant, Xiao Ya, was absolutely amazing! She was not only beautiful but also incredibly helpful and thoughtful. Knowing I had a child with me, she upgraded us to a 35-square-meter family room, which made our stay much more comfortable. We also received a complimentary buffet breakfast for three, along with some special small Dunhuang-themed gifts 🎁. Our overall experience was fantastic. Seriously, if you're coming to Dunhuang, this hotel is a top recommendation!
DDawson LottHonestly the service at this hotel is what made the trip! The brothers that own the place are extremely friendly and helped drive us around to everything from the sights to their food recommendations that were all delicious. Not to mention beer, fruit and other drinks are all included at the hotel free of charge! It’s also walking distance to the oasis. To any foreigner wanting to travel here, these guys make it so easy and stress free, it’s worth it for them, plus there’s a place to swim amongst the heat and great air conditioning. You can see the dunes from the roof of the hotel too, where there’s tables and chairs to relax for a drink. Would come again in a heart beat.
